🚨 A little while ago, a 911 call was received regarding a very young child who had been seen alone and in the road on HWY 101 in the 9000 block. For privacy and safety reasons, we waited before sharing any information to ensure the child was secure and safe.

We are deeply relieved to report that the toddler — estimated to be approximately 3 years old and found cold and freezing — was quickly brought to safety by a Good Samaritan driving a red truck who did not hesitate to help. Thanks to their quick actions, the child was warmed and protected until appropriate authorities arrived.

The father has been located, and the proper agencies have been notified to ensure the wellbeing of this child moving forward.

A huge thank-you to our incredible first responders and dispatch for their swift response and care in this situation. Your dedication ensures that our community’s most vulnerable are protected — even in the most unexpected moments. 💛

And again, to the Good Samaritan who stopped without hesitation — you are a true reminder of the good in this world. Because of you, this child will be safe tonight.

We appreciate every single person who helps keep Lawrence County a place where neighbors still look out for one another. 🖤❤️
