We haven’t posted in awhile; our customers have kept us busy and their referrals to new customers have been a blessing.

With most every project, we start with a soil analysis and if the pH needs increased we bring in lime. Photos are of our equipment used to distribute bulk lime on our customers pastures or hay fields.

These hay fields were were full of weeds last season. We were asked to clean it up.
The first step was to pull soil samples, then put lime on the fields to get the pH moving towards 6.2-6.7. Then we applied herbicide in September and 30 days later no till seeded and applied a starter blend of fertilizer.
The field is now full of new grass standing 10”-12” tall.
We saw some weeds in certain areas so a selective herbicide was applied today.
With a minimum of 70 degree days with temperatures above 50 at night, these grasses should grow tall and full until it is baled before the end of May.
Looking forward to a harvest of clean hay for this owner with a higher yield than years past.

Today we broadcasted a fertilizer blend across 13 acres of hay field.
Herbicide was applied late August and we added 15 pounds/acre of no-till seed in October. There is already evidence of new growth and this application of fertilizer, along with the rising temperatures, will boost the foliage into a healthy growth mode!

We’ve had many request from pasture owners of small acreage who need help restoring the condition of their soil.
Due to this need, we’ve added a smaller tractor, a fertilizer broadcaster, sprayer and smaller trailer.
No-till seeding is limited to the larger tractor.

Moving snow one day and now planning for the spring.
If you are wanting to improve the quality of your pastures, I will begin scheduling appointments to pull soil samples in February. Once we have the analysis a plan can be developed for nutrients to be applied.

Mowed down the weeds and old corn stalks, cleaned up nicely for our customer to begin laying out their new homesite!!

I have the tractor and batwing loaded up and ready to go. First thing in the morning we’ll be mowing another piece of property over 11 acres.
So grateful for the work!!
