Funny how things come full circle.
When we (CJ + Jenna) got married, we loved our wedding day so much that we daydreamed about starting a venue someday…

A few years later, here we are - running a cabin recording studio in the mountains (that also could be an idyllic wedding location). Over the last few years, a few friends (and friends of friends) have said their vows here, and honestly… if we were doing it again, we’d probably elope here too.

… so we’re making it official ✨
 Sill & Glade is still a recording studio first and foremost, but we’re now offering a sweet little elopement package that includes the space, photos by , and florals by . We’ve also got a crew of talented folks who can help with other wedding things (video, cake, officiating, sound 😉 etc.) if you need them.

Some gear that may not be the *most fanciest*, but is special to us:

1. An uncle’s Yamaha classical guitar, kept in storage from the 70’s to 2000, that was the first 6-string CJ ever played.
2. Sea-foam Green Fender Hot Rod Deluxe - CJ’s first tube amp that’s been tried and true for the last 10+ years.
3. Jazzmaster that was stripped and refinished on an impulse in 2018, starting an appreciation for all things-wood grain…hence the Telecaster’s finish.
4. 70’s Slingerland drumkit, gifted by at the onset of the studio… also stripped to the wood grain on impulse with a hope and prayer, currently being refinished by
5. ‘73 Fender Rhodes, that has been on our wishlist forever, acquired from last year.
6. A century-old upright piano from facebook marketplace that’s full of character and has found its way on to multiple recordings. Bonus points for the “Baltimore” manufacturing stamp that’s a nice little nod to our hometown.
7. Seth Thomas metronome - another marketplace find - that gives a 3D-face to a drummer’s best friend (or worst enemy)…

If you’ve been here, you know Jo, studio cat extraordinaire. She’s out here supervising sessions and the mouse population.

We adopted her as a kitten while living in the city, and she’s fully embraced her alley to valley glow up. She’s been in so many social media posts (and even an album cover) we thought it was about time she got on some merch.

Howdy, CJ - your friendly “in-house audio engineer” here 👋

My wife Jenna and I own and operate the studio, and if you’ve recorded here, you know me well. However, I realize there are plenty of you out there on the interwebs that I haven’t had the chance to meet yet.

I’m proud of what we’ve built at the cabin over the past few years, and I took some (long overdue) time to put together a portfolio of songs I’ve engineered, co-produced, and/or mixed—along with some thoughts on how I approach my work. Link for this is in bio and on our website.

hey there 👋 we’re Jenna & CJ!

we figure we should probably show our faces on here and say hi every once in a while.

sometimes we stand on the porch and practice our blue steel looks staring at the cascading mountains… and then sometimes, we run a music studio 🙃

CJ does all things front-of-house: hospitality, prepping you for your sessions, producing, engineering, mixing, mowing, landscaping, etc etc etc

Jenna is behind the scenes trying to make sure the wheels don’t fall off and keeping our toddler and other creatures alive
