Make sure to register to vote by April 6 before early voting starts April 7. Your vote in the primary election matters because you get to pick the delegates that will choose the Secretary of State candidates who will be on the ballot of the General Election come November.

Participation in the primary is very low, with most counties seeing 20-30% of registered voters turn out and making the decisions for everyone else. Your vote matters the most during a primary election for this reason. It's also during these elections that Precinct Committeepersons are chosen, which determines who will choose party leadership in those selection years. Not to mention delegates are chosen, as described in this video. So your vote NOW can help shape how your local party and the State party operate in future years.

Are you frustrated about what is or isn't being done? This is how you get involved. If you're happy about the direction being taken, this is how you make sure it continues.

I hope this video helps at least a little. If you have more questions, definitely get in touch with party leaders in your county and reach out to those who are involved.

BREAKING NEWS:

In an unexpected press conference early this morning, Governor Mike Braun stunned Hoosiers by issuing what aides are calling “a sweeping and heartfelt apology tour.”

“I owe the people of Indiana an apology,” Braun reportedly said, standing beside a stack of executive orders labeled ‘Probably Not My Best Work.’

The governor continued:
“I’m sorry for eliminating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs across state government before realizing that maybe inclusion includes… everyone.”

He also apologized for signing executive orders blocking the use of environmental-justice considerations in state permitting decisions.
“Turns out people do like clean air and water equally. Who knew?”

Braun went on to acknowledge concerns about policies supporting life extensions for coal-fired power plants while rejecting climate-planning tools.
“In hindsight, ‘let’s double down on coal and ignore greenhouse-gas cost analysis’ may not have been the kitchen-table issue Hoosiers were asking for.”

In a particularly emotional moment, the governor addressed higher-education governance changes that gave him full appointment authority over the Indiana University Board of Trustees.
“I thought Hoosiers were saying they wanted more efficiency. I didn’t realize they meant less democracy. My mistake.”

He also apologized for supporting efforts to convene a special session to redraw congressional district maps ahead of the 2026 elections.
“Apparently when voters say they like their districts, they don’t mean ‘please redraw them mid-decade.’ Lesson learned.”

The governor concluded the press conference by announcing a bold new initiative:

Executive Order 26-APR-FOOLS:
“Listening To Hoosiers First.”

Implementation is expected immediately after today.

State officials later clarified the order would take effect right after unicorn-powered passenger rail connects Fort Wayne to Evansville.

Happy April Fools’ Day, Indiana.

Did you know that Delaware County has not had more than 23% of registered voters show up in a Primary Election since 2016? Did you also know that the deadline to register to vote is April 6? With such low turnout, your vote matters more here than any other time.

18.32% - 2024 (Presidential)
8.90% - 2023 (Municipal) - Just 4043 people
13.71% - 2022 (Midterm)

Your vote is your voice, so make sure it's heard.

If we band together and show up, we can make sure they know exactly what's coming in November.

Your vote is your voice. It deserves to be protected.

No matter what we believe or where we come from, most of us can agree on this. We all have certain basic rights. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

One of the most important ways we protect those rights is by voting and protecting your ability to do that falls on the County Clerk. It's the Clerk's responsibility to make sure every eligible voter can cast a ballot securely and have their voice heard.

If I am elected, I will work to make sure our elections are accessible, secure, and run with integrity. This is not about politics, it's about making sure your voice counts.

Please make sure you're registered to vote by April 6. Early voting starts April 7, and Election Day is May 5.

Make a plan and make your voice heard.

You may start seeing these pop up on doors around Muncie and Delaware County. The Delaware County Clerk's Office along with the League of Women Voters worked hard with both Delaware County Democrats and Republicans to finally move us to vote centers.

These pieces were created by the Delaware County Democrats with information provided by the League of Women Voters of Muncie-Delaware County and will be put out by local Democratic Party Precinct Committeemembers and volunteers.

The most hilarious part of the "We're a republic, not a democracy" argument is that it's intended to mean that there should be institutional checks, rather than a majority rule, as the forefathers of America were concerned about through a direct democracy.

So while the people who use that argument against the No Kings protests typically support Trump, the argument actually supports the idea against him as he tries to weaken Democrats so that Republicans can be the only party in power.
