Fruitport High School’s own Johnnie Kempker has been named the Week 17 winner of the NFL Way to Play High School Award, a national honor presented by the National Football League.

Johnnie earned this recognition for his pick-six against Hopkins and for exemplifying outstanding sportsmanship, leadership, and safe play. His achievement also helped Fruitport High School secure a $3,000 equipment grant from the NFL Foundation through USA Football.
