Don’t mind me just over here dreaming 💭

✨A community who celebrates stimming as joy, not something to hide or suppress.
✨A community who understands that “no” is a complete sentence, and rest is not something you have to earn.
✨A community who speaks plainly and means what they say, without hidden layers to decode.
✨A community who makes room for silence without filling it with pressure to perform normalcy.
✨A community who sees meltdowns and shutdowns as communication, not misbehavior.
✨A community who adapts the environment instead of asking you to mask who you are.
✨A community who honors special interests as gifts worth sharing, not quirks to outgrow.
✨A community who gives clear expectations and never punishes you for needing them.
✨ A community who lets connection happen in parallel play, side-by-side silence, or shared obsession, not just eye contact and small talk.
✨A community who believes you when you describe your own sensory experience.
✨A community who values authenticity over politeness.
✨A community who shows up consistently, because unpredictability is its own kind of exhausting.
✨A community who makes space for different communication styles 👏🏽👏🏽 typed, signed, spoken, or otherwise ✨✨ as equally valid.
✨A community who never asks you to prove your struggle to deserve support!!!!

These are my favorite kind of hotels! Because I can bring everything that is familiar to my little guy! Everything that reminds him of home!

People don’t always see the extra suitcase full of safe foods. The blankets and pillows from home tucked into every bag. The playlist of familiar sounds ready for the plane ride.
They don’t see the planning that goes into every trip! Mapping out quiet spaces, packing backup snacks, bringing comfort items that make an unfamiliar hotel room feel just a little more like home.
Traveling with my autistic child comes with real challenges. Sensory overload. Unpredictable meltdowns. Environments I can’t control no matter how much I prepare.
But I bring EVERYTHING I can to soften the edges because my child still deserves to see the world.

He deserves new experiences, new places, new memories that are theirs to keep.
It’s not easy. It’s worth it. 💙

I was able to get a dinner for mom and dad (us) for making the smoothest transition yet Panda Express 10/10

There was no school yesterday buuuut we’re back!

What are they counting as all of his food? 👀

The goal is and will always be to just get him to eat something.

Monday was mondaying! But what did he eat???

First week of school in the books. 🎒 Sending my guy into a world that doesn’t always know how to meet him where he’s at is the scariest part.
There were tears (mine, not just his)
second-guessing, and a whole lot of “did I prepare him enough?”
“Did I add in all of the accommodations he might need in his IEP?”
But we showed up. We got in the ring. Because staying home, staying safe, staying in our comfort zone was never going to get him where he’s meant to go.

Autism mom life means you don’t get the luxury of sitting on the sidelines. You show up scared and you do it anyway! For him. One week down, and we’re still standing. 💛
