Redneck Rosie's Treats

Redneck Rosie's Treats Assorted marinated vegetables in decorative redneck wineglasses and mason jars. a neighbor in Kentucky had taught me to can fruits and vegetables.

too many white grapes on the vine, too many apples on the apple trees,an early frost in October with too many green tomatoes on the plants, too many cukes on the vine. when I harvested everything prior to the frost ,I had to do something quick,so I started looking at different recipes.I wanted something full flavor, with just a little kick. after looking at different recipes from several friends an

d family members and those redneck cookbooks my mom always gives me,I set out to make my own blend.when I had finished my first batch, my lifelong friend David ,said HOTDAMN, and that was followed by both of us simotaaniosly saying you know what this would go well with....Bloody marys..so I added my asparagus, green beans, brussel sprouts, sweet onions and green tomatoes into a jar. I named it hot damn. This particular frost came about the same time I was invited to attend/host a workshop and conference in Naples,Fl after returning to the farm one night this particular week I found my dog tommi with a 22rifle gunshot wound. after a trip to the vet he named her the miracle dog.after a few days of recooperating I packed her and my redneck parrot rosie down to florida. while packing I grabbed a few jars of some canned treats to give away early xmas presents...The first one was opened by my friend THE, who owned and operated a waterfront dinning restaurant in naples for many years. His response was WOW this is really good and he passed it to his friend paul who then passed it to his left and before Ii knew it ,most of the patrons of amvets post #23 wanted to buy a jar.they took all I had and asked if I would make more before returning home ,I immediately went to permitting and zoning and occupational liscensing for collier county and was directed to the cottage food laws od usda Dept of agriculture.while purchasing produce to make a batch for the amvets members I left a jar for the manager of the market and the following day he ordered 4 cases. In accordance with the cottage food guidelines there has to be product names for all and 3 separate labels. so my best friend and I sat up many a night..naming all products an d the business and my daughter helped out with the labels. I took rosie to the beach and had a .photo shoot. the following weekend we (myself and the two HOTDAMN GIRLS) attended the Christmas festival in Goodland, Florida. All of the products were a huge success, and redneck Rosie made the Marco ,Island newspaper. We are currently undergoing research regarding manufacturing in different forms of packaging, distribution and marketing. Investment requests would be considered at this time. please check out our website at redneckrosiestreats.com
