Congratulations to the staff and volunteers Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter, Inc. for another successful BACKPACKS FOR BACK TO SCHOOL event setting up 2,000 kids for a good start to the new school year. Job well done!

Nashua Community Music School student rock band “FATES COLLIDE” rocked it out at the Taffeta Music Hall on Sunday. Bravo!

For the dozen young musicians in the NCMS Teen Rock Band, it was their first performance before a live audience at a professional venue. About 220 fans and supporters filled the hall at the Western Avenue Studios complex for the event, now in its second year.

The New Hampshire House voted today to override Governor Kelly Ayotte veto of the bipartisan 10-year transportation bill duing unusaul summer session.

Veto Day includes voting on overrides for 22 House bills and 9 bills rejected by the Governor. The override on HB 2026 passed 292 to 25: 317 out of 424 members showing the likely effect on attendance by advancing the session to today.

Nashua Fire Rescue responded to two fires monday morning.

Ladder 3 was the first truck on scene, in the rear, with light smoke showing from the roof vents and soffits of a 3-story garden style apartment building. Command was established by Ladder 3. Engine 3 stretched a 1 ¾” hose line to the front door of the building awaiting the location of the fire.

United Way of Greater Nashua hosted their Skydive United fundraiser on Saturday. Read our latest post about the event.

Now in its seventh year, the event brings together community members and corporate teams to raise money and awareness around a selected local issue. Previous campaigns have focused on youth homelessness. This year’s Skydive United fundraiser focused on food security
