"They think it’s mostly her gallbladder, but it has caused her liver numbers to really elevated"
- Todd Nelon

For the last seven hours, Todd and Rhonda Nelon have made history in their own life through a scary situation.

At 4 AM this morning, Rhonda I woke her husband Todd, and informed him she was having some chest pains, and feared a potential heart attack.
The Couple drove to the hospital and for the last seven hours have been running tests to see what could potentially be wrong and up to this current moment they believe it may be gallbladder issues.
by extension, these gallbladder issues are causing Rhonda‘s liver numbers to be elevated, causing many concern.

Todd Nelon asks for continued prayers for his wife and family as they await more information from the doctors.

His ministry continues as he sings and teaches others to worship God whoever they are, and he encourages others to build a personal relationship with Jesus as it’s the most important thing they can do.

Nathaniel Chapman says:
"Since most all my family knows:
I was in a pretty rough car crash this morning.
My car is a total loss, but I’m still here!
This has me shaken up and feeling pretty rough. But I’m thankful I’m here to tell about it."

"NO BREAKS, NO FRACTURES, NO INJURIES!
GONNA BE SORE FOR A FEW DAYS BUT GODS HAND OF PROTECTION WAS WRAPPED AROUND ME THIS MORNING!"

The Liberty Quartet is marking a milestone in their ministry.

In 2026, the group celebrates 30 years of traveling and sharing Southern Gospel music. To recognize the occasion, they have released a 30th Anniversary collection featuring 30 songs from their three decades of ministry.

The project was produced by Doran Ritchey and Royce Mitchell, with orchestrations and tracks by Cody McVey, vocal engineering by Scott Pergande and Will Arasmith, and mixing/mastering handled by Ronnie Brookshire.

The anniversary collection is currently available as a 2-CD set and USB format, with streaming platforms expected to follow.

On March 12, 2009, the National Quartet Convention announced a historic change — the event would relocate from Louisville, Kentucky to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee beginning in 2010.

For over two decades, Louisville had hosted the largest annual gathering in Southern Gospel music. The move to the Smoky Mountains placed the convention closer to the heart of Southern Gospel’s fan base and opened a new chapter for the industry’s biggest week.

Today, the convention is held at the LeConte Center at Pigeon Forge and continues to draw thousands of fans each year.

On this day in 1957, the Blackwood Brothers became the first Southern Gospel quartet to receive a major industry award, winning Best Sacred Performance for their album Favorite Gospel Songs and Spirituals.
This recognition marked a turning point for Southern Gospel, proving its influence extended beyond church walls.

Rising to fame in the 1940s, the Blackwoods became one of the most respected quartets in gospel music. But in 1954, tragedy struck when a plane crash claimed the lives of R.W. Blackwood and Bill Lyles. Instead of giving up, they pressed forward, bringing in Cecil Blackwood and legendary bass J.D. Sumner.
Their 1957 award set a new standard for gospel quartets, paving the way for future groups to gain national recognition.
Their influence still echoes today, shaping the music and legacy of Southern Gospel.

The Southern Gospel Music Association (SGMA) was founded on March 8, 1994, as a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, protecting, and promoting the heritage of Southern Gospel music. It established the SGMA Hall of Fame and Museum, originally located at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, to honor legendary artists, songwriters, and industry leaders.

Today, the SGMA continues its mission through historical preservation, education, and recognition of influential figures in Southern Gospel. The Hall of Fame inducts new members annually, celebrating those who have shaped the genre. The organization also works to archive and protect classic recordings, memorabilia, and stories that define Southern Gospel’s legacy. Through events, partnerships, and outreach, the SGMA ensures that the rich traditions of quartet-style gospel music remain alive for future generations.

Known as a great friend and caretaker, here’s what the Perry’s had to say about his passing…

“Today, our hearts are broken again to learn of the passing of our dear friend, Terry Christie! Terry was in charge of parking buses at NQC every year. He was always trying to make sure the artist was taken care of. We became close friends the first year he took over. NQC will not be the same without our friend! Please, pray for his family! This is a big hole in the hearts of those who were his friends! 💔💔💔”
