I’m Matthew. I don’t just make media—I help shape messages.

For over a decade, I’ve worked behind the lens—directing photography, film, and creative strategy for brands that wanted more than just attention.

I’m Claire.
I’m not the one holding the camera or editing your content.
I don’t come from the media marketing world.
I come from the Capitol.

I work in the Tennessee legislature—alongside leadership to help shape policy that protects families, business owners, and individual liberty across the state.

And while I love that work, I’ve also seen how much messaging matters—how brands, institutions, and public voices are shaped by the stories they tell…

or the ones they let get rewritten.

That’s why Matthew and I started Pioneer Spirit.

Not to chase trends. Not to go viral.
But to build something that protects the message and honors the mission.

My role is behind the scenes—structuring projects, managing timelines, and helping good people build their vision with clarity and conviction.

Sometimes that means design strategy.
Sometimes it means policy insight.
Always, it means building with purpose.

From my time with Nashville Ballet, to shaping state policy, to building a home—
I’ve spent my life learning how to lead from behind the curtain.

Not for applause.
But for impact.

I’ve had a lot of people ask where the name “Pioneer Spirit” came from—so here’s the answer. Not the clean, corporate one. The real one.

We didn’t choose the name Pioneer Spirit because it sounded poetic.
It awoke in us a call that runs bone deep. And we weren’t the first to feel that pull.

Because before it was a brand, it was a burden—a call to build.
To step forward when it would’ve been easier to stay behind.
To do the hard thing because it’s right, not because it’s safe.

We chose the name because it carries weight. And because we’ve lived it.

From the pilgrims who crossed an ocean for freedom…
To the families who packed their lives into wagons and headed west with nothing but grit and grace…
To every leader who stood firm while the world pushed back—

This country was built by pioneers.

People who took the risk.
People who lit the match.
People who burned the ships.

That’s what our logo means.
It’s not aesthetic. It’s intention.

Because building with conviction demands commitment.
And compromise is the death of calling.
Because if we won’t protect what matters—we lose it.
