Two years of living in Tennessee.

Two years of grief for what I thought I had, and two years of triumph for choosing myself in spite of it all. I'm still struggling to get into my own feet after everything, but still I try.

My dearest friends, thank you for knowing me and loving me despite it all. Every single day I am reminded that I would not be anywhere near the person I am today without the joy, laughter, and care of those who choose to be around me.

This week is special, and with it may come even more exciting changes.

I cannot wait to see where the next two years bring us.

I was so excited to see a Dayflower in my friend's yard. It's not often you get to see such a uniquely-shaped flower, and seeing their rounded blue petals peek through the grass was truly a treat.

On Sunday, the crew of Opera on Tap's Nashville chapter took to the stage at 615 ChuTNey-a local south Indian food spot! Dosas were ordered, Chai was sipped, and songs about traveling the world were sung.

Even though the world is burning, moments like these give my heart some peace, like the calm in the eye of a hurricane.

I found an unexpected garden at my rehearsal for Sunday's show this week. The daytime heat was waning, and after I ran through my pieces I had some free time in the twilight to snap some pictures. There's a contented sort of quiet that falls along the hushed walkways of a college out of session. The odd couple walking through, hushed tones as they giggle and whisper sweet nothings. I stand-almost out of time-among flowers that nobody will see. The students have gone, graduated, or to visit family before the new semester; I stand alongside the quiet of the day, in a garden lost in time.
