At 1:01 pm on November 12, 2024, our sweet Bocephus Blue Green crossed the rainbow bridge, surrounded by his family and guides. 🌈💫 He was the epitome of resilience and strength wrapped in gentleness. After being rescued from a life of abuse as a bait dog, he showed us what it meant to embody forgiveness, demonstrating the heart’s capacity to continue to love even after facing unimaginable cruelty. And after a fall left him recovering from a broken back in 2020, he taught us about healing and holding on through incredible pain. And yesterday, he was our teacher once again, giving us a lesson in crossing to the next plane with grace and ease, letting us know himself and making his own decision of when he was ready to go.
Obsessed with pizza and far too dignified to eat off the floor, he showed all aspects of being human—even preferring to walk on the sidewalk instead of the grass because heaven forbid he got his feet dirty…or wet.
Some of our favorite memories are flying with him, watching him impress TSA agents by walking all by himself through the metal detector (we’d have to remove his vest because it would always set it off). He would sit proudly on the other side, relishing the attention and praise he’d get for being such a good boy. And now once again, he waits patiently for us on the other side.
He was our little energy worker, alerting us to big energies and teaching those just beginning to learn their gifts to communicate with him. His eyes were as bright and inviting as his soul. And today, he rides pain-free on the clouds with dragons.
Losing a loved one, especially unexpectedly, is never easy. Dogs are more than just pets—they are sentient beings, imbued with the same consciousness that sparks our own souls. To truly know them as the aware, divine beings they are is a profound gift.
We love you, Bo. Thank you for allowing us to be your mom and dad, even if just for a short time. And thank you for all the love, guidance, and companionship you continue to give. Forever a part of the family, and now forever a guide. We love you, our sweet Bocephus Blue ✨🫶🏼🐾💚
For those who loved him too: Last week we hiked Red Rocks Open Spaces and we saw Bo bounding down the trail with heartfelt abandon, filled with more energy and joy than we’ve seen him exude in a while. A few short days later a visit to the vet for what seemed like a stomach bug—caught by both him and his sister—revealed something far more devastating: his body was riddled with cancer. Even in incredible pain, you would never have known, as he was always focused on taking care of the people he loved. His final wishes were to have one last hike with us where his ashes will be scattered on a hilltop with a view of the ocean
