In 1937 The Franklin Theatre opens on Main Street with the film Night Must Fall, starring Robert Montgomery and Rosalind Russell. Admission is 10 cents for children and 25 cents for adults. In 2011 The Franklin Theatre reopens in grand fashion on June 3 and immediately becomes the heartbeat of a thriving Main Street.

I'm sure you have heard people refer to Nashville as the “Music City”, but do you know how it got its nickname? The story goes that in 1950, a radio announcer by the name of David Cobb referred to Nashville as "music city" during a live broadcast on Red Foley's NBC radio show. Little did he know that this seemingly reference would stick and become an integral part of Nashville's identity, cementing its place as a hub of music culture in the United States.

Since then, Nashville has been the birthplace of countless iconic albums across various genres. From blues to rock to country, the city has produced some of the greatest albums of all time. For instance, the legendary Etta James' album "Etta James Rocks the House" was recorded in Nashville, along with Kings of Leon's "Only by the Night," Taylor Swift's "Red," Ed Sheeran's "X," and many others.
