The Tennessee Screenwriting Association ("TSA") announces the return and expansion of its annual Script-Com Screenwriters Conference to be held the week of November 10 -16, 2025.

As the Nashville Film Festival winds down, there will be NO TSA MEETING THIS WEEK, either in-person or via Zoom. We'll be back on Zoom for a Study Hall seminar next Wednesday, Oct. 1.

In the meantime... just keep writing!

Congratulations to TSA Board Member Melissa Sheridan who won the features category of this year's Pitch Competition at Nashville Film Festival!

Melissa's script "Let Her Go" wowed the judge panel and the audience with a story of an empowered woman who takes on a child-trafficking ring. The script has placed in multiple competitions this year. Another script by Melissa called "Meglacanda" which she co-wrote with her son Jett and is part of TSA's Script School program, is a finalist in NaFF's screenplay competition this year.

Also competing in this year's Pitch Competition were TSA Members Amy Townsend and Andrew Heacock, who both delivered excellent pitches.

Congratulations to Melissa, Amy, and Andrew in the pitch competition and to TSA Members Heidi-Marie Ferren, Elvis Wilson, Mike Bentley, and Corbin Eaton who made the finalist round of the NaFF's screenplay competition this year!

The Tennessee Screenwriting Association is now accepting entries for its annual 'Short 'N Scary' script contest!

Scripts must be in the horror/thriller/scary genre with a max of 10 pages. Contest is only open to TSA Members, but new members are welcome to submit.

All contest rules, the prize list, and the entry form are @ the TSA website (link below).

Back in June, TV producer Allison Intrieri ("Law and Order: SVU," "Power," "Chicago Justice,") talked to us about writing and producing a TV series (video from that seminar is in the Member Portal for TSA Members to watch at www.TennScreen.com, btw).

Allison has released a new children's book called "Thatcher Hates the Bath," which looks adorable. If any of our young parents (or grandparents) are looking for a fun storytime read for their little ones, go check out Allison's new book!
