Our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly wait for a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. He will transform the body of our humble condition into the likeness of his glorious body, by the power that enables him to subject everything to himself.

“Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take up my yoke and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Do not banish me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, instructing us to deny godlessness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way in the present age, while we wait for the blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. He gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for himself a people for his own possession, eager to do good works.

"Love is not blind; that is the last thing that it is. Love is bound; and the more it is bound the less it is blind.

This at least had come to be my position about all that was called optimism, pessimism, and improvement. Before any cosmic act of reform we must have a cosmic oath of allegiance. A man must be interested in life, then he could be disinterested in his views of it. 'My son give me thy heart'; the heart must be fixed on the right thing: the moment we have a fixed heart we have a free hand."

The Lord said, “I will certainly come back to you in about a year’s time, and your wife Sarah will have a son! ” Now Sarah was listening at the entrance of the tent behind him.

Abraham and Sarah were old and getting on in years. Sarah had passed the age of childbearing. So she laughed to herself: “After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I have delight? ”

But the Lord asked Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Can I really have a baby when I’m old?’ Is anything impossible for the Lord? At the appointed time I will come back to you, and in about a year she will have a son.”

SATURDAY SPOTLIGHT!
Go Now to Shiloh: A Biblical Theology of Sacred Space
by N. Blake Hearson
——————————
In the Old Testament, God revealed himself to people in particular places so they might communicate with him and worship him. Unlike pagan deities, who were connected to the created world, God’s worshipers had to rely on him to reveal himself. Communication could be difficult, but God made it possible through places such as Bethel, Shiloh, and the tabernacle.

In the New Testament, Jesus takes these categories and applies them to himself, showing that he alone is the access to God. Subsequently, the Holy Spirit comes and gives believers unprecedented access to God, making them connecting points between God and the world. Go Now to Shiloh by Old Testament scholar and professor Blake Hearson explores the challenges believers have faced over the centuries when communicating with God and shows what an immense gift we have as New Testament believers.

02/14/2022

And we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. In this, love is made complete with us so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment, because as he is, so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love; instead, perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. So the one who fears is not complete in love. We love because he first loved us.

Hello, why is Historical Theology for the Church in paperback when the Theology for the Church is in hardcover?
I am co-author of the work The World and the Word. I wish to contact the chief editor of the work.
I am the CEO of Christian Publishing House. I wanted to offer a suggestion for your pricing. It would seem that your people do not know that Kindle eBooks have different royalties based on the price you set. If you stay between $2.99-$9.99 you receive 70% royalties. If you go outside of that you get 35% royalties. For example, your book A History of Israel: From the Bronze Age through the Jewish Wars is priced at $10.70 for the eBook meaning you are making less than if it were $9.99. $10.70 at 35% means you are getting $3.75 per sale $9.99 at 70% means you would be getting $7.49 per sale. Why am I spending time telling you these things, I care about your readers, of which, I am one.
Spurgeon was more positive about Christmas than often imagined. My post at B&H Academic Blog from a couple of years ago.
