“Find out who you are. And do it on purpose.” - Dolly Parton
For as long as I’ve been alive; Dolly Parton has been an inspiration of mine. Bold, beautiful, funny, smart, talented, and fearless. A simple country girl who chased after life heart first. Constantly dreaming of more and better - not just herself but for anyone who she could reach.
I stayed on your TOUR BUS a few years ago and it’s an experience I’ll never forget or take for granted. There’s a full video on my channel for it - but it was never just content for me. I was in her space. Her sacred space where she spent so much time writing and creating and dreaming. I cried for basically 2 days straight while there.
The entire bus was kept exactly how she used it - expect for a couple of closet spaces where changed into display cases. They also replaced the water bed she loved with regular mattress. The bus was handed painted - displaying images of travelers and magic. Butterflies. Instruments. Purples, golds, blue.
Every move she made always felt true to herself. From leaving her shack - to her looks - her songs - Dollywood - it is her. “It costs a lot of money to look this cheap” she would handle the hate with grace. How? Because she didn’t do it for them. She was herself; entirely.
She had the grit and determination to chase after anything and everything she wanted out of this life. People see the success but fail to remember or notice the work, struggles, failures, and sacrifices.
Hubben got to meet Dolly a few years ago.
He says it was hands down one of the best interviews he ever got to have during his time in news. I’m so glad he got this chance.

He said that once the interview was over she asked about him and where he was from and wanted to focus more on who she was talking to instead of talking more about herself.
🌼 she loved fresh flowers and asked her them on her bus and in her rooms everywhere she went.
When I stayed on the bus - the majority of the flowers were yellow roses. Yellow roses were my mammie’s favorite flower - my grandmother was smiling at me during this once in a life time chance.
Thanks to who she was - she brought life and tourism into a
part of the state that wouldn’t be what it is today without her.
She has brought books to millions of children because she was inspired by her dad not being able to read. She wanted to fix that.
See a need. Fill a need.
Dolly did that.
Watching Dolly: the musical was absolutely magical.
If anyone deserves their life told through song - it is her.
Growing up in Tennessee, feeling like I had nothing to offer because I was just a girl on farm - Dolly always resonated with me. (No I don’t have 11 siblings and I didn’t live in a two room shack) just a small town girl with big dreams and the work ethic to give this life all I got.
Never scared to be seen, but never one to hog the spotlight. She shines bright - from the rhinestones to personality.
I will always love you, Dolly.
