Dustin is foremost a musician who has played with several bands, and he uses this skill to read crowds and play music they want to hear when he DJ’s. Dustin wasn’t always a Dj though.
In the fall of 2017, Dustin was traveling and taking photos for local DJ’s where he watched and learned how they operated their equipment. Many were great with the crowds, some were getting there. Dustin never anticipated becoming a DJ himself until an opportunity arose one night when a DJ failed to show at a local Shoals club called PJ’s. Dustin was there with his laptop and offered to help fill in for the night. The crowd loved Dustin’s style and ability to read and interact with them. The club asked him to come back the next weekend, then the next, and the next... well, you know how this goes.
Fast forward to 2018 and Dustin was freelance DJing weddings, private parties, and club residencies from Nashville, TN to Selma, AL and beyond. Business was steady and people were learning who Dustin was and what he could do. In the fall of 2018, a mutual friend introduced Dustin to the owner of Shoals Event Specialists, LLC. Dustin and SES partnered to provide quality DJ services as well as event rental items. This partnership flourished and led to even more bookings across North Alabama, primarily in the wedding industry. 2019 saw Dustin DJing over 80 events from weddings and corporate events to fundraisers and private parties.
