CALLING ALL SUPER FANS OF Bill Miller!!!!
ATTENTION BILL MILLER SUPER FANS:
We are excited to reach out to you about a project that we are working on with 3-time GRAMMY WINNER Bill Miller and we are inviting YOU — his friends and family of fans — to collaborate with us on this film project: Ear To The Common Ground!
We are taping it this April in a barn, on historic Cash Lane in Music City — a truly special place that once was the home of Country Music Hall Of Fame members June Carter, Carl Smith, Marty Stuart, Patsy Cline, Jim Denney, Mother Maybelle Carter — as well as Carlene Carter, Cindy Cash, and more. The series will air next fall on PBS and each of the 12 episodes will feature one artist and one topic. Eight fans of each artist will come together and each will bring a dish to the table.
The series will highlight the wonderful diversity of America in many ways: ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, geography and, most importantly, the project will celebrate the diversity of thought and opinion. Episodes will feature: Bill Miller, Kyshona Armstrong, Gustavo Guerrero, Sam Lewis, Louis York, She Returns From War, Sister Sadie, Frank Solivan, Minton Sparks, SUSTO, Sweet Lizzy Project, and Wu Fei.
We all know and feel the power that music has to bring people together and we all know and feel how distant many Americans feel from each other these days. While we can disagree with our fellow Americans on issues, we can also BREAK BREAD with them, LAUGH with them, RESPECT them, HAVE COMPASSION for them, and hopefully find some common ground. A show like this should be on television — now, it will!
Each episode is 30 minutes long and will feature a diversity of opinions on each issue: right, left, and middle. At the end of the dinner party, Bill Miller will bring a dessert to share and then perform a few songs in the spirit — bringing people together through music and food. The topic that will be discussed in Bill’s episode is “Freedom of Religion / Separation of Church & State” with a filming date of April 12, 2022 (Tuesday) — just outside Nashville, Tennessee.
If you would like to be considered for this special opportunity to sit at the dinner table with the living legend, Bill Miller, you are invited to reach out to producer Becca Finley at [email protected], or by text 843-819-7811. Please include your name, email, and include the code BILLMILLERSUPERFAN.

We Are The Ghost Dance Poets
by the Powwow Poet
(David Lee Herring)
Inspired by "Ghost Dance"
by Bill Miller
Verse One:
We come together from near and far
Like when the wise men followed the star
from the sweet Grass Hills
We come to be filled
with the Spirit from on high
Great Spirit in the Sky
Calls us to come together now
Grand Father will teach us how
Love and Peace will prevail
Chorus:
we are the Ghost Dance Poets
Summoned together by the Great Spirit
Fighting this battle with pen instead of arrow
Taking the path that is the most narrow
Calling all of humanity
to come together in unity
Verse Two
We paddle down the Zuni River
As through the dry red land it slivers
It's water quinches the thirst of our souls
As we gently surrender all control
to the guidance of the Great Spirit
We respond to his Call as we hear it
through the rattle of the Gourd
and the beat of the drum
We all come together as one
Repeat Chorus:
Verse Three
Some start out at Pahuk
Others begin there journey at Bear Butte
All from different nations and tribes
We are Great Spirit's Scribes
His songs and poems pour forth from our tongues
We sing songs like our Fathers have sung
Prophetic rhymes of warning to mankind
The earth is your mother, respect and love her
We all sprang up from her soil
Now we must all join in unity and toil
work and labor together to save her
Repeat Chorus:
Verse Four
See, Wounded Knee Could not stop the poets
127 years later We still can hear it
The pounding of the drum
Signaling for us all to come
and dance together in the circle
And we know it's a miracle
Bringing healing to our bodies and souls
As from all tribes together we dance
Dance is a form of romance
with the Holy One
as we worship both Father and Son
From near and far we come
All together we come
