Scent is wild. It paralyzes you before you can even think about it. No thought process, just straight to the heart.

I’ve been keeping Zeppelin’s shirts in Ziplocs. Trying to hold onto his smell for as long as I can and some of them are still so strong it literally stops me in place. Like I’ll just be going through a bin and then I’m just… frozen. One smells like that summer in Florida. Another one smells like those late night talks we used to have in the car when everything felt safe and okay and I didn’t know any of this was coming.

Every single shirt just pulls me right back to him. And I’m really freakin scared for them to lose his scent. That’s a fear nobody talks about. Losing someone twice. Once when they go and then again, slowly, in all the little things you can’t hold onto.

I don’t really have a point to this post I just needed to talk about it.

These clips hurt to watch. I miss him, and the fact that somebody took his life is too much to bear. He loved life. He should still be here. I will be grieving him every second of every day until I die. Losing a child is unfathomable. These Ring doorbell clips are actually priceless to me! I cherish them. 😢 If you’re a parent to a teenager, go hug them extra tight for me.
