The mountains are alive with color. 2 days after this photo was taken a cold front came through and brought rain/snow and the wildfire smoke from the north. I got out just in time.

This is my 3rd GSI cup (I keep losing them.) These things are awesome - super lightweight and comes with an insulated sleeve. For only $10, definitely one of my standard pieces of gear. ⁣

With one of the best views I’ve ever had, this campsite was a beautiful spot in Monument Valley.⁣
⁣
I remember grilling some brats while downing a cold drink and just staring off at the buttes. ⁣
⁣
I’m still trying to get my plans together for next week: LABOR DAY WEEKEND! I’ve got 4-5 days to go get lost in some mountains! Any suggestions within 10 hrs of Phoenix??? ⁣

Probably one of my most beautiful campsites. Nestled besides the convergence of 3 small streams and set about 800 feet away from the trail, I had a huge field of grass with tall pines and mountains behind me and rolling hills of green in front of me. I know photos won’t do it justice. ⁣

I spent the weekend on the Mount Baldy Loop out near Greer, AZ. The gps tracks say 15+ mile (It’s more like 18.9 miles.) What a beautiful area! It’s just a considerable drive for just a weekend. ⁣

Yesterday was my 23rd year of living in Arizona. I cant believe I’ve lived here for over half of my life and I’m still finding new and amazing places!⁣

It may be 110 in Phoenix but it’s a nice, cool 75 out in these hills. Where are you going to beat the summer heat? 🌞 💦 ⛰ 🏝 🏊🏻‍♀️ @ Mount Baldy Wilderness

This image always reminds me that what you see on IG is merely a very brief moment in time that someone has created and shared.
⁣
In this image you don’t see the throngs of visitors darting past as you try to capture your shot or the hurried craziness of guided tours or the echos of hundreds of other tourists bouncing around the canyon walls.
⁣
And while I curse the fact there was no solitude within the canyon, this photo still allows me to now enjoy the beautiful moment in silence. ⁣
