Despite the lack of rain over the past month. Flash flooding could become a big issue tonight, with at least 2 inches of rain expected for everybody in the yellow and possibly 3-6 inches of rain possible in the red. The higher amounts will be isolated but still, be careful on the roads tomorrow morning

It’s nice for southwest Missouri to be in the bullseye of rain since we haven’t seen a lot over the past month. This will help our drought for sure

Widespread rain and a few thunderstorms are expected across the area today into Thursday. The greatest coverage and heaviest rain is expected between 1 AM and 12 PM Thursday, somewhere southwest of a Nevada-Springfield-Gainesville line. Localized flooding is possible within areas that receive the heaviest rain.
