This short film “Mi Casa No Es Su Casa,” is a parody on the well-known welcoming phrase used by many Hispanics, “Mi Casa Es Su Casa,” as a sign of hospitality.

The cultural clash between the sexy but definitively American-style no nonsense San Francisco-based business woman occurs right away when she meets the successful but obviously very “frisky” Mayor of the town where her company wants to buy a property to build a future luxury hotel in the middle of a quaint town in Mexico. With zero Spanish speaking skills and her American style business bluntness she finds herself in the home of the sellers of the property where the residents are mostly the souls of the dearly departed and the living are determined to get rid of her in the most permanent of ways. But something extraordinary happens to our American business woman…..a sexy, passionate, dynamic Don Juan instantly captivates her with his smooth Latino silver tongue and his not so subtle desire for a Green Card and “muchos dolares.”

The short is a cute reminder that no one is immune from the spell and charm of other cultures.
