Made my way out to Chillitown MX LLC for the first time this weekend. When Greenville MX was cancelled because of the heat, I was torn between here and Lincoln Trail, but for whatever reason, I felt God was telling me to go to Ohio.
Caden called last minute and asked if he could tag along which I was super stoked about as well!
Going to a track in another state you've never been to before is bittersweet. On one hand, you aren't going to make any money. You're actually going to lose money paying for food, gas, and somewhere to stay usually. However, the pros are that you're free from focusing on any specific riders and you're free to get as artistic as you want to!
My goal for this weekend was to meet new riders and families, to see some kids from FCA Motocross Ohio camp, to talk Jesus with some strangers, and to capture the sea of emotions that take place at any track on any given race weekend. And that goal was absolutely accomplished.
I saw some familiar faces. Met some incredible new riders (Thanks Chance Litchfield and Brandon Fiessinger!) Stayed the weekend with Lane Staley and Megan Staley, got to spend the weekend with one of my favorite kids of all time Caden Martin, and somehow took some of the best photos and videos I've ever taken.
Also, a few kids mentioned that there's no ministry presence at a lot of Ohio tracks and asked if I would consider trying to make that happen at the Buckeye Series in the future. Not sure how Scott would feel about that, but you never know what God has in store or how he's workin'!
It was an honor to meet so many of you and to be welcomed so warmly by the staff and Full Throttle Images!
I'm looking forward to running into you all again!
