The New Boston Beacon earned 31 awards at the New Hampshire Press Association Better Journalism Contests for its work in 2018-2020 including editor Keith Gentili being named a NH Columnist of the Year all three years. The New England Newspaper & Press Association named Gentili a 2020 Serious Columnist of the Year and recognized The Beacon as a 2021 Distinguished Newspaper of the Year.

NEW BOSTON PROUD—Beacon Publisher Keith Gentili and Assistant Editor Jane Byam share a smile tonight in Waltham at the New England Better Newspaper Competition. The Beacon’s annual “Thankful 4 New Boston” special section captured first place while Gentili was named Serious Columnist of the Year.

A YOUNG READER asked over the weekend, "What's the 70 mean on page 1 of the November issue?" Good question. The 70 in our flag last month represents our 70th issue and it was just a way of us saying how thankful we are for the support of the community, which has contributed so greatly during our first six years. We also celebrated our 50th issue in similar fashion back in March 2022.

NEW BOSTON BEACON Editor & Publisher Keith Gentili's 2023 White Mountains State book tour concludes Tuesday, Dec. 12, at the Goffstown Public Library (6-8pm). After 24 events, ranging from the AMC Pinkham Notch Visitor Center to independent book stores to NH public libraries, this will be the final presentation of the "Hiking the New Hampshire 48" slideshow this year. Books will be available Tuesday and via private message. As always, thank you for the ongoing support.
