Hello all, I’m a little hesitant to post on here. I’m worried about backlash and such. But I have an issue I would appreciate professional opinions on. I’m wondering opinions on invisible fence lines and if that’s a smart route to take. I have a 6 m/o Doberman mix, and she started jumping the fence. Yes I have been working with her on boundary training. She just ignores her training and is stubborn when she sees something she wants. I want to take the safe route asap, meaning extreme measures such as e-collar or invisible fence rather than hoping training sticks with her and she doesn’t jump the fence and get hurt. This is not the permanent house she will staying in the rest of her life, and the fence is only about 3 feet.

No we cannot get a bigger fence installed. She does fine with 6+ fences just not this little one. Thank you for any advice.

Please keep criticism to a low, this is not all the Information. Feel free to ask questions for more info.
Thank you!

This is my beautiful boy. He’s a rescue. We adopted him about a year and a half ago. He’s come so far since he came to us! He lived on the streets and in shelters for a while. We think he’s 3 or 4. He is the perfect house dog. He’s great with all kids. He does well at doggy daycare and at the vet. He’s a real sweetheart. However, he is very protective on walks. We have learned to keep our distance from others while walking. The problem comes when we don’t see someone and the dog sees them first ot he is startled. He will jump crazy high at them and growl. I don’t want him to hurt someone. He is particularly reactive to joggers, (he used to be very reactive to bikes, but that’s improved tremendously). We do not have a fenced yard, so we walk him several times a day. He is the perfect dog in so many ways, but I’m very concerned about this. He’s 90 pounds and very strong.

When we first got him, he was super food motivated, but doesn’t care as much about it now.

We tried a halti, but he flails about and becomes unwalkable. He can also scratch it off and tries to chew it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
