In an impact statement read by the victim in court, she said the two defendants had stolen her life and left her financially crippled due to her being unable to work.

"This is what you did to me," she said. "No safety, not even in my sleep. I wake up screaming, searching, to see if you're there.

"You r***d me, now you haunt me," she said.

Passing sentence, Judge Catarina Sjolin Knight described Stocks as the "driving force" but said Jowle was "fully engaged".

Det Con Warwick Taylor said the pair had committed "a horrendous crime" and subjected the victim to "a harrowing ordeal".

"They will have to live with the impact of this crime for the rest of their lives, but I hope these sentences give them some sense of closure," he added.

Following the conclusion of the case, the victim said she would no longer allow what happened to define her.

Much of the trial was held behind closed doors to protect the identity of his wife.

The girl told the court Leddra caused her "severe amounts of pain and emotional torture" and he sickened her to her core.

She said he made her feel like he was the only person she could trust and "pretended to be somebody I needed", but in reality he "took advantage of me and used that for his own sick and twisted gratification".

A man who gave a 15-year-old girl herpes after manipulating her into having s*x with him has been jailed for two years and nine months.

Adam Leddra was 19 when he befriended the girl on Facebook and bombarded her with praise before persuading her to have s*x, Newcastle Crown Court heard.

Prosecutors said it was "classic grooming" while the girl told the court Leddra "took advantage" of her for his own "sick and twisted gratification".

Leddra, 32 and from Fatfield in Washington, admitted s*xual activity with a child and inciting a child to engage in s*xual activity. He was jailed for 20 months in 2014 for similar offences against two other girls, committed at about the same time.

A British man, along with five others, has been charged with carrying out 56 s*xual offences against his now ex-wife over a 13-year period.

Philip Young has been remanded in custody in relation to the string of charges, which include multiple counts of r**e and administering a substance with the intent to overpower to allow s*xual activity, according to Wiltshire Police.

Young, 49, has also been charged with voyeurism, possession of indecent images of children and possession of extreme images.

Five other men, currently on bail, have also been charged with offences against 48-year-old Joanne Young, who waived her legal right to anonymity.

A man left his "best friend" to die alone on his kitchen floor after launching a fatal alcohol and cocaine-fuelled attack on him, a court has heard.

Christian Dean, 36, was found dead at his home on Graig Road, in Ynyshir, near Porth, Rhondda Cynon Taf on 26 June.

Mr Dean and Thomas Griffiths had been drinking at Mr Dean's home when the defendant, who had boxing experience, launched an "explosive" punch before leaving the scene.

At Cardiff Crown Court on Thursday, Griffiths, 34, who pleaded not guilty to murder but admitted manslaughter, was jailed for 11 years on the basis he killed his friend with a single punch.

The cause of death was a bleed to the brain caused by trauma.

Former dance teacher jailed for abusing students
A dance teacher who used his authority to s*xually assault two students has been jailed for four years.

Gregory Pichery targeted two men while working at a college in Leicester between 2004 and 2012, and s*xually assaulted a man while giving him a massage at a grooming salon in Oadby, Leicestershire, in 2019.

On Thursday, Leicester Crown Court heard the 57-year-old groped his first victim's crotch during a warm-up for a class and on another occasion took him into a changing booth before pulling down his underwear and touching his ge****ls.

Pichery, of Exeter Street, Blackpool, was found guilty of four counts of s*xual assault, in relation to three people, following a trial.

Man charged over stabbing in Liverpool street A 20-year-old man has been charged after another man was stabbed on a street in Liverpool.

The victim, a man aged in his 50s, suffered an injury to his arm in the attack on Breck Road in Anfield, which happened at about 23:00 GMT on Monday.

Mason Breen, from Buckingham Road in Tuebrook, is accused of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a knife or bladed article in a public place.

He is due to appear at Liverpool Magistrate's Court later.
