Godfather of Harlem Title Sequence | EPIX

The Godfather of Harlem main title is an homage to the contemporaneous collages created by African-American artist, Romare Bearden (1911–1988), during 1960s Harlem.

He is best known for his photomontage compositions made from torn images of popular magazines and assembled into visually powerful statements on African-American life.

Netflix Girlboss

Girlboss Title Sequence by Imaginary Forces

To create the main title for Girlboss, creative director Michelle Dougherty used quick cuts between shots to capture the energetic spirit of the show and protagonist. Intercutting between textures and stylized “postcards” of key moments from the show, dynamic sound design guides the main title and transitions the viewer out of the show and back again.

Mozart In The Jungle Season 2 Opening Titles

This year the show has decided to start every episode with a unique title card sequence set to a variation on Phoenix’s “Lisztomania.” Each of the ten episodes features a different short, playfully abstract animated title sequence, created by designer Teddy Blanks, co-founder of Brooklyn’s CHIPS Design Studio. “The idea I pitched was to make colorful animations inspired by abstract geometrical classical album covers from the '40s and '50s, particularly those designed by Alex Steinweiss,” CHIPS is a studio for design and development founded by partners Dan Shields, Teddy Blanks, and Adam Squires. Ant-Man Title Sequence by Sarofsky

Sarofsky created a look that was totally new and unique in the Marvel Universe. They drew inspiration from the production design surrounding the Pym Particles, which are contained in a glowing, beautiful red liquid. Their solution allowed us to both connect visually to the film without feeling like just another scene in the movie and depict the macro and micro worlds in the same visual language.

Spectre Title Sequence by Framestore

The creative process spanned almost four months, involving upwards of 30 artists and producers, who worked closely with Kleinman to define the images, style and tone of the sequence. For teams accustomed to creating shorter, snappier commercial spots, the Bond titles are a chance to approach the work in a different way: ‘There’s more scope, for sure’, says Executive Creative Director William Bartlett.
