Hey I'm Nicole, I'm 58, I'm English but I live in VERY rural France with my two cats in a dilapidated manoir. Had to get away from the crazy work ethic in the UK. Now I spend my days braless in wellies trying to grow stuff and stop more bits falling off my house. It's a project 😬

I am 82 and these are my reason to get out of bed.

Hello! I am a dull woman age 33, newly divorced and I live alone in the north east of the United States. I am a Director at a manufacturing facility Monday through Friday and an urban farmer in the evenings and weekends. I grow micro greens in hopes of keeping our local community healthy. It’s my way of fighting the system and big Pharma. I am a mother of two cats, one of which crossed the rainbow bridge last week. I live a quiet life as an introvert and choose quality over quantity as far as my friends go. I am not sure why we share our shoe size in this group, but I wear a size 8. I love reading about your regular shmegular lives and quietly root for all the women in here.

On May 13 I went to adopt a 10 year old cat from a 91 year old woman in hospice. I have been without a cat for 3 years and felt a longing when I saw a post about this one.
What I picked up was a small black panther, showing no signs of aging gracefully. Luckily he readily accepted my parrot. He found my small dog to be a great target for stalking exercise.
And he is a house guard. In the month that I’ve had him he has alerted me (at 2 a.m.) to a bat flying around the house, next a possum outside the front door, and then a raccoon in the yard. He also got my attention to a wasp on the window by the parrot’s cage.
In my previously dull life the house was quiet, and I slept peacefully. I’m not sure what to make of all this unexpected excitement in the wee hours.
Other than that he has fit in perfectly . I’m adding a photo of Max (black panther in cat clothes) watching over Olive (little dog) who had just gotten home from an extensive medical procedure which had her under anesthesia for 4.5 hours. 😞

We've discussed my hotel life before. Today this girl snickered behind me as I checked in. She was laughing to her guy about my box fan. Saying things like "who does she think she is" and "what would you need that for".
But you know what I can't hear with my fan on? Her attitude.
What? Sorry, couldn't hear you over my fan. Yeah. I'll be in my room, with my fan on, doing my dull things, without hearing anyone else. Just the way I like it. Thanks.

I’m 56, very boring and camp all summer in my 1988 Jayco. I bring my husband because he’s boring too. We get up at 5 am every day, make breakfast, hike, walk, explore, then sleep and repeat. Size 8.5 shoe.

Hi, my name is Francis, I’m living in a town 20 km north from Amsterdam, the Netherlands and I’m so dull that I enjoy making 180 the same quilt blocks with my Singer Featherweight, a cup of coffee or tea and a snoring cat on the table. I wish you all a dull and happy Sunday!

I am pretty dull. Disabled, getting older, on my own, living below the poverty level. However I think my eggs are pretty exciting. Dyed in onion skins like my Polish mom taught me, and I just started adding the herb designs a few years ago.

Hello fellow dullards, I’m 51 and 3 years ago I sold my house and bought some woodland. I live in the woods now, no mains electricity or water or anything but I have animals and grow food in polytunnels. I build sheds from trees I cut down and mill and I create pastures for animals mainly. I invite special needs people and kids groups here to do crafting and animal activities but try not to allow ”normal” people near. I’m allergic to the news and last year did a horse logging course. I also trained a goat to pull a cart. Here’s a picture of my bee shed

Update: For those asking, yes I live in the Pacific Northwest, Newberg, Oregon. Glass floats were large glass orbs that fisherman used to keep their nets afloat. Glass blowers make them for decoration now and you can find lots of them in coastal shops. Lincoln City, on our coast hosts a huge float hunt every year that glass blowers contribute to. People from all over come to the Oregon coast during the spring and summer months to find a float during that time. I've never found one.
In Newberg, a local glass blowing shop decided to hide one of their own glass marbles and gave a clue online for residents to find as a thank you for community support. I literally jumped at the chance to find this because it reminded me of the glass float hunt at the coast. I found the very first marble they hid! They haven't set out a second one yet, but I'm sure they will. ❤️✌️
I've always wanted to find a glass float at the beach but never have. A local glass blowing studio recently held a marble treasure hunt so I JUMPED at the chance to find it....and I did!!! 😁😁😁

This post will be very controversial, but here goes.
I… don’t like cats. Like, at all. They just don’t do it for me. The whole litter box thing, the butt on the dining table, the insouciance. My husband feels the same way.
About a year ago, this cat showed up on our farm, and we were like, eh, ok, she’s pretty cute. She can live outside.
Cut to now, where this creature lives on my face. She’s the cuddliest, sweetest animal I’ve ever encountered. My husband carries her around like a baby, and talks to her in a funny voice.
WHO ARE WE?? What sorcery is this?? I must know how this has happened.
Edited to add: Her name is Pork Chop 🙂

Yesterday, my husband and I started travelling back home from South Australia. In the middle of literal NO WHERE, we found this poor stray... calf... on the side of the highway. We hadn't seen cows for days. The next farm was 51km away. She still has her umbilical cord and she was weak. Sidenote: We've both been farmers most of our lives. I specifically raised beef cattle before we married.
We stopped at the next town and called the vets (some 75km away), who got us onto the local feed store. We picked up calf milk replacer and a bottle. Stopped at the chemists for some electrolytes. Gave her a litre of both over the next couple of hours.
Nearly to our hotel for the night, we decided we'd just drive through the night to make it home. Can't have a calf in a hotel room. The front desk there told us about a vet who would probably be able to board the calf. At 8pm, we were at this vet with the calf. They were lovely and had no trouble boarding her. She was dehydrated amd underweight (both expected) so she got plenty of warm fluids. We stopped this morning and got a tarp to cover the backseat of my car, and we are taking the calf home.
My car is brand new. As in, drove it off the lot four months ago, new. This is our first big trip in it. I got a car because we sold our livestock to "retire" from farming and I wanted something a bit sportier. And here we are with a new calf in the backseat. The universe laughed at us, obviously.
My life was supposed to be dull.
Size 7 in Men's Redbacks. No banana for scale, but how about a calf?
