On the other hand, when creation shifts from out to in—prioritizing external validation or trying to impress an audience—the essence of the art may become diluted. It’s easy to get swept up in trends or the pursuit of applause, but when that becomes the focus, the genuine spark that elevates art to a unique experience can disappear.

Art is most powerful when it’s a conversation between the creator and the viewer, with authenticity being the bridge. 💯The connection with your partner in salsa dance is a shared journey that emphasizes deep collaboration, where two individuals come together to create genuine improvisational art. This shared experience strengthens bonds and builds community, highlighting the importance of connection in human life.

True connection is not currently taught in 99% of Salsa open class structures. Most of the leads are learning choreography patterns without the lead/follow relationship components to truly execute the moves. Follows are being shown the choreography and repetitively executing the choreography without the proper understanding of how to follow the moves in real world social dance. In addition to most of the new generation of salsa instructors teaching performance technique in place of social dance technique…….
