🌟 Local Business Spotlight: Juliette Fowler Communities 🌟
For more than 130 years, Juliette Fowler Communities has been a cornerstone of East Dallas—honoring its history while continuing to grow, innovate, and serve with compassion.

What began in 1892 as an orphanage and home for widows is now a vibrant nonprofit community offering senior living, affordable housing, memory support, and programs for youth in need, including The Ebby House and the Youth Support Center. It’s a rare, beautiful model of intergenerational living all on one historic campus.

Fowler recently opened its new Memory Support Neighborhood, built around the nationally recognized I’m Still Here approach, and continues to lead Dementia Friendly Dallas. Residents enjoy a warm, connected community just minutes from White Rock Lake and Lower Greenville—plus fun touches like what may be Dallas’s oldest continuously operating pool, still bringing families together since 1929.

Looking ahead, Fowler will expand again in 2026 with a new wing on Abrams Road featuring more independent living, wellness spaces, event areas, and the Bezos Academy Lakewood childcare center.

Meet Your Neighbors: The Carroll Family 👋✨

Morning walks, park days, and backyard barbeque nights — the Carrolls truly embrace life in the M Streets!

Holland and James, their son Chris, and Baby Carroll (arriving April 2026!) love the friendly faces, walkable parks, and neighborhood charm that make this community feel like home. You’ll often spot them at Glencoe Park, strolling to Window Seat or Café Duro, or joining GHNA events. 🏞️☕

With their three cats — Blondie, Bowie, and Dolly — and busy careers, they still make time for the simple neighborhood joys and supporting local favorites like Terilli’s and Goodwin’s. 🍝

📆 End-of-Year Financial Check-Up Time!

Here’s what you should check off your list:
1️⃣ Max out your retirement accounts (IRA, 401(k), etc.).
2️⃣ Harvest investment losses or gains to optimize tax impact.
3️⃣ If 73 or older, take required minimum distributions (RMDs).
4️⃣ Make charitable gifts or QCDs (Qualified Charitable Distributions) before year-end.
5️⃣ Defer income where possible (to shift tax burden).
6️⃣ Consider a pre-tax Roth conversion or a backdoor Roth IRA.
7️⃣ Use any left-over FSA funds (use-it-or-lose-it!).
8️⃣ Reflect on your financial goals—what’s working? What needs tweaking?
9️⃣ Lastly: set up a meeting with Aubrey to review your year-end strategies.

Howdy! It’s Corn Dog Season 🌭🎡

It’s October, and that means one thing—State Fair of Texas season! From Big Tex and The Midway to the iconic Fletcher’s Original Corny Dogs, it’s a Dallas tradition we can’t get enough of.

Fun fact: The Fletcher family has been serving up their famous corny dogs since 1942, selling over half a million each year at the fair!
