Good times were had by all at the Business After Hours event at .nola. JAMNOLA is a great venue for a party or event. They recently moved from the Marigny to Frenchmen St. If you’re planning something fun and need a place to host it check out their great facility. The Squirrels by Robert Askins at Tulane’s Lupin Theater.

You’ve got a few more chances to catch this hilarious and very timely show at Tulane. It’s full of political humor hidden behind squirrel puns, cannibalism, and lots of mucking.

Do yourself a favor and go see the latest production from , The Lesson by Eugene Ionesco. The absurdist text is delightfully dark and hilarious, but the performances are the real treat. If you liked Professor Antony Sandoval’s (.creative) last show (Ubu Roi) you’ll love this. Show runs this weekend only.

From the archives! Yesterday I was looking through the hundreds of photos I shot with . I had the opportunity to photograph dozens of chefs over the years in their restaurants as well as document them visiting Crowley, LA for the Rice Field Day.

Fun facts:

*Jazzman rice was developed at the LSU Ag Center in 2009 and it is the first U.S. bred jasmine-type aromatic rice.

*Rice is the third largest agricultural crop in Louisiana by value and we are the third largest rice producing state in the country.

* just had their 116th annual rice field day this past June.

*Yes, I photographed multiple times. The guy looks good in a rice field.

*Jazzmen Rice is the first company to bring this varietal to market and it’s delicious. My kids give me disappointing looks whenever non-Jazzmen rice makes its way into our house.

Last week I had the honor of photographing the opening of this year’s exhibition at entitled Transformative Lenses: Four Contemporary Brazilian Photographers. It features works by Rogério Assis, , and . According the library, “Together, their projects explore Brazil’s cultural traditions, environmental challenges, social justice movements, and Indigenous resilience, offering powerful perspectives on a country both richly varied and deeply complex.” If you have the means to see their work I’d highly encourage you to stop by to see it.

A band member said to me on Saturday, “You’ve got the best job in the world.” When I’m shooting it’s feels like it. If I’m not mistaken, I think this is my tenth year as the official photographer for the Tulane Marching Band. Whoop! Whoop! Here are some of my favorites from Saturday’s game where beat Duke 34-27.

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing the 25th Annual Tulane Engineering Forum at the Convention Center. By floating from room to room I learned a lot about space travel, nuclear energy, flood protection, bridge design and so much more.
