"We may use your content to improve our services."
Sounds reasonable, right? They're just making the product better. But here's what that phrase actually means in most AI tool privacy policies: Your data is being used to train their AI.
Which means that confidential client call you transcribed? The presentation with your Q4 strategy? The video you made with your voice?
It's all potentially becoming part of their machine learning dataset.
And here's what makes this dangerous:
Most people don't discover this until months later—after they've already shared sensitive information. By then, you can't un-ring that bell.
I'm not trying to scare anyone away from AI tools. They're incredibly powerful and can transform how we work.
But there's a massive gap between "this tool is useful" and "this tool is safe for my business data."
Most people cross that gap blindly, clicking "I agree" on terms they'll never read.
That stops now.
Michelle Cullison and I are hosting a free working session on October 29th where we'll teach you how to vet any AI tool in 5 minutes.
We're not just talking about it—we're doing it live with real tools:
→ Finding privacy policies and terms of service
→ Scanning for the exact red flag phrases that matter
→ Checking where your data actually goes
→ Making the safe/caution/don't use decision
Plus, we'll show you how to use AI itself to speed up this process—and how to verify its findings so you don't trade one blind trust for another.
60 minutes. A proven checklist. The ability to evaluate any tool yourself.
