“Maybe in another life
”

But what if this is the life?

What if this version of you still deserves joy, peace, love, and presence right now?

Sometimes we spend so much time looking at what could’ve been that we forget to fully live what already is.

This life deserves your presence too.

I used to think the phrase,
“Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer” sounded terrible 😭

But eventually I realized it wasn’t really about keeping enemies around.

It was about awareness, emotional intelligence, and learning how to navigate relationships without assuming everyone is against you.

Sometimes we miss connection and growth because we walk into spaces already guarded.

And while everybody doesn’t deserve access to you, there’s still value in learning people instead of immediately fearing them.

That perspective changed a lot for me.

For a long time, I thought the advantage in life was being able to see down the road.

Plan ahead.
Think a few steps ahead of everyone else.

But this generation has had to develop something different entirely.

They’ve had to learn how to see down the road AND around the corner because life hasn’t been giving them much warning.

Things have been coming at them fast, and waiting to have all the answers wasn’t an option. They’ve had to learn how to adapt, pivot, and keep moving without losing themselves in the process.

I see it up close through my own daughters. And honestly, it blows me away.

This generation hasn’t had it easy. The anxiety is real. The overwhelm is real. But so is the resilience. The ones who have learned to feel all of that and still keep looking forward, who have figured out how to move with intention even when the path isn’t clear, they are going to be just fine.

More than fine.

That’s what Strategic Joy looks like in real life. Not the absence of hard things, but the ability to keep growing through them anyway.

I couldn’t be more proud of what I’m watching them become.

A little advice, from experience: stop calling it confusion when deep down you already know what it is.

Sometimes you already know what the problem is. You may not be ready to deal with it yet, but that’s different from being confused.

Some of us were shaped by circumstances that did not leave a lot of room to sit with a decision for too long. When something was in front of you, you had to deal with it, whether you felt ready or not.

That doesn’t mean you should not take a moment to process. But taking longer often won’t change the truth.

Be honest with yourself sooner. Once you do that, you can stop going back and forth and decide what comes next.

I had one of those moments where I could feel I was off.

You know when you’re moving, talking, showing up

but you’re not really there?

And I was about to walk into a room to speak.

So instead of pushing through it, I stepped away.
Went into the bathroom, turned on the shower for noise, and just sat there for a few minutes.

No phone. No talking. Just me.

And when I came out, the first thing my friends said was,
“What did you just do?”

That’s how much of a difference it made.

It didn’t take an hour. It didn’t take a full reset day.
Just a moment to come back to myself.

Stillness will do that for you. Every time.

When was the last time you gave yourself a real moment?

One form of self-care I don’t think we talk about enough is pouring into other people.

Giving your time, your wisdom, your encouragement, and your resources from a genuine place.

Because I’ve found that when you bless others well, life has a way of pouring those blessings back into you.

And to me, that matters too!

Self-care isn’t always about stepping away.
Sometimes it’s about meaningful connection and generosity.

I used to think I had FOMO.

But it wasn’t really about “missing the party.”

It was comparison.

And I’ve learned that comparison is the enemy of confidence.

I had to stop worrying about where I wasn’t invited and start paying attention to where I was actually supposed to be.

Because when you finally understand that you’re on the right path for your own journey, you can celebrate your wins without looking sideways.

Once I stopped comparing my path to theirs, the anxiety quieted down and my confidence started speaking louder.

Stop mislabeling your discipline as falling behind.

You’re not behind. You’re just on a different road.

What’s one thing you’ve been comparing lately that you’re ready to let go of?
