The June Community Gris Gris Ritual is now live at Creole Moon.

This special working honors Marie Laveau, St. John the Baptist, and Doctor John Montenée during the sacred season of St. John’s Eve and St. John’s Day, June 23–24.

This ritual is my online adaptation of an old New Orleans Voudou practice. In Marie Laveau’s day, folks gathered together and brought something to add to the ritual cauldron: petitions, roots, herbs, charms, prayers, wishes, troubles, and intentions. After the work was blessed and performed, they received some of the gris gris to take home.

For this community ritual, I will prepare the cauldron, provide the ingredients, call the names, speak the prayers, and perform the work. Everyone who participates will be included by name and intention.

After the ritual, each gris gris will be assembled, prayed over, dressed, and allowed to rest before shipping the following week.

Each participant receives:

A place in the June Community Gris Gris Ritual
Their name and intention included in the work
A small blessed gris gris from the ritual cauldron
A downloadable guide explaining gris gris and how to use your charm

You can carry your gris gris, keep it on your altar, place it near your front door, tuck it into your purse or wallet, or keep it somewhere meaningful for blessing, protection, luck, renewal, spiritual strength, opportunity, and steady improvement.

This is not just a bag of herbs. It is a piece of the community working, fixed in the old way, prayed over, blessed, and sent home with you as a spiritual link to the ritual itself.

Please note: the ritual will be performed June 23–24. The gris gris will be assembled and shipped the following week and your download will be sent via email at that time.

Good gris gris is not rushed. It needs time to be prepared, blessed, rested, and allowed to gather its force.
