A major milestone for animal welfare in Europe.
Poland has become the 24th country in Europe to adopt a ban on fur farming, following President Karol Nawrocki’s signing of new legislation.
ACE congratulates the organisations, advocates, and citizens whose sustained efforts and evidence-based campaigns helped make this progress possible.
As Europe’s largest fur producer and the second-largest globally, with mink, fox, chinchilla, and raccoon dog farms housing over 3 million animals, this ban marks a meaningful shift in public values and a growing recognition of the industry’s local and ethical costs.
