Jesus Didn’t Come to Fix Your Behavior — He Came for Your Heart

🔥 Jesus didn’t come just to modify behavior — He came to transform the heart.

“It’s not what goes into a man that defiles him… it’s what comes out of his heart.” — Jesus

So many people try to fix outward actions while ignoring the root issue inside. Boundaries matter. Accountability matters. But without heart transformation, it can all become just a band-aid over the real problem.

True freedom starts when we come to the end of ourselves and say:
“Lord, I can’t… but You can.”

Victory isn’t pretending temptation doesn’t exist.
Victory is bringing darkness into the light, casting down vain imaginations, and depending on Jesus daily.

You are never too far gone for God to change your heart.

You Can’t Be Free If You Can’t Face The Truth | I’m talking about the last time I gave in to p**n — and the moment God brought me face to face with the truth.

Real breakthrough didn’t come from making excuses, blaming temptation, or protecting my reputation. It came when I got honest before God and admitted what was really in my heart.

Sometimes freedom starts with a painful confession: “Lord, help me to not want what I keep running back to.”

You can’t be free from what you don’t confront. But when you bring it into the light, Jesus is able to meet you there with mercy, truth, and real freedom.

Freedom Comes When You Seek God for Him | True freedom doesn’t come from only asking God to take temptation away. It comes when our hearts shift from “Lord, just free me” to “Lord, teach me to love You more than anything.”

The greatest gift God gives us is not just freedom from sin, blessings, family, or provision. The greatest gift is Himself. His Spirit dwelling in us. His presence. His nature. His holiness.

When we seek God for who He is and not just for what we can get from Him, our desires begin to change. Our thoughts begin to change. Victory starts flowing from relationship, not just desperation.

Seek Him for Him.
That’s where true freedom is found.

Overcoming Sin: Faith Produces Works | Jesus said, “Whoever the Son sets free is free indeed.”

Victory over sin is not found in willpower alone. It is found in Christ. But true faith in Christ is not passive — real faith produces works.

We do not work to earn salvation, but because we have been saved, there is a work that must take place inwardly. Philippians 2:12 tells us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. That means we take responsibility, abide in Christ, prepare for the fight, and walk faithfully before God.

Freedom is real. Temptation is real. The inward fight is real. But the victory we have in Jesus Christ is greater.

Faith that is alive will produce faithfulness.

In Episode 18 of the Wake Up Speak Up Podcast, I sit down with my brother in Christ, Titus Bohn, for a raw, honest, and much-needed conversation about overcoming worldly mindsets, purity, and finding real victory through Jesus Christ.
We touch on Titus’ upbringing, how his past shaped the way he thought, and why so many people can grow up culturally Christian, agree with Christian morals, and still deny a genuine relationship with God.
From there, we take a deep dive into why so many men struggle with p**nography, why people hide it, and what it actually looks like to walk in freedom and purity. Titus shares how God brought victory in his life, and I also share part of my own journey of overcoming p**nography and learning to walk in purity before the Lord.
This episode is candid, blunt, and honest, but it is filled with hope. P**n addiction does not have to be your identity. Freedom is possible. Purity is possible. Victory is possible through Jesus Christ.
If this episode encourages you, share it with someone who needs to hear it.
Topics we cover:
* Titus Bohn’s testimony and upbringing
* Cultural Christianity vs. genuine relationship with God
* Why people believe Christian morals but deny God
* Why so many men struggle with p**nography
* The shame and secrecy behind p**n addiction
* How to find purity and freedom in Christ
* Walking in victory after addiction

Discipleship Without Evangelism Isn’t Biblical Discipleship | Discipleship is more than learning the Bible, building relationships, and having good conversations. Those things matter, but biblical discipleship must include deliberate evangelism. (Matthew 4:19)

Jesus didn’t call us to only gather, learn, and talk about the truth. He called us to go and make disciples, preach the gospel, and reach the lost. If evangelism is missing from discipleship, then we may be missing a major part of what Jesus commanded.
(Matthew 28:19-20)

Discipleship should mature believers into people who know the Word, live the Word, and share the gospel boldly.

Ministry Isn’t Just What People See | Ministry is not only what people see on the platform, behind the pulpit, or out on the streets. Real ministry also happens behind closed doors — in how we love our wife, lead our children, and show up for the people God has entrusted to us.

A man of God should not only preach the gospel publicly, but demonstrate the gospel privately through love, faithfulness, and sacrifice.

What the Fear of Man Produces In Ministry | The fear of man can produce a double life in ministry — passionate in public, but lacking character at home.

Real ministry is not just what people see on the streets, behind a pulpit, or online. It starts with humility, repentance, the fear of God, and being the same person in private that you are in public.

Your wife, kids, or those that closest to you should never get the scraps while everyone else gets your best. (Full Episode on Wake Up Speak Up YouTube Channel)

Ministry Starts at Home: Loving Your Family While Preaching the Gospel | Ministry doesn’t stop when you leave the streets, the church, or the outreach. It starts at home.

If my wife is holding down the house so I can go preach the gospel, then when I come home, I need to serve her too. We are one. Every testimony, every soul reached, every gospel conversation — she is part of that.

Christian husbands, fathers, and ministers: don’t give everyone else the best version of you and leave your family with what’s left. Love your wife. Serve your kids. Lay your life down at home too.
