Here is what I love about an anniversary cruise.
You don't plan dinner. It's already there. You don't argue about what to do tonight. There are five options within walking distance. You don't wake up stressed about logistics. You wake up somewhere new.
The ship handles everything. You just show up and be together.
Couples tell me all the time that a cruise was the first anniversary trip where they actually felt relaxed from the moment they boarded β€” not just by day three when they finally exhaled. There is something about having nothing to figure out that lets you actually be present with each other.
And lagniappe: mention your anniversary when you book and a lot of cruise lines will send something to your cabin. Champagne, a little cake, cabin decorations. It is a small thing that lands like a big thing.
If your anniversary is coming up and you want help planning something that actually feels special without you having to manage every detail β€” drop a πŸ’ below and let's talk.

Solo cruisers β€” nobody told you about this and I need to fix that.
The single supplement is real. On most ships, if you book a standard cabin by yourself, you're paying for two people whether you like it or not. That can add 50 to 100 percent to your cabin cost just for the crime of traveling alone.
But studio cabins exist specifically to solve this problem. Designed for solo travelers, no single supplement, and on Norwegian Cruise Line they even come with access to a private Studio Lounge exclusively for solo guests. Other lines are catching up fast because solo travel is one of the fastest growing segments in the entire cruise industry right now.
Before you book your next solo sailing, ask about solo-specific cabin categories. It is a completely different conversation once you know they exist.
Drop a βœ‹ if you've ever cruised solo

Carnival Breeze passed her CDC health inspection by one point. One.
On May 14th, while docked in Galveston, the CDC gave Carnival Breeze an 86. A score of 85 is a fail. One point, and the report listed 36 violations.
Some were minor. Others were not.
A food service employee reported gastroenteritis symptoms on April 19th but kept working nearly an hour before going for medical care. On May 10th, another crew member had gastroenteritis, used public bathrooms during their shift, and kept working under their supervisor's recommendation.
A passenger was isolated on May 7th for acute gastroenteritis. The housekeeping team was not notified until the following day. They cleaned that stateroom without knowing.
Ice machines were soiled with black debris. Raw chicken, steak, and shrimp were stored in a way that risked cross-contamination. Cut lettuce and sliced deli meats in the buffet were not labelled for proper disposal.
This same ship scored a perfect 100 in January 2026. Four months later, 36 violations and one point from failing.
Would this change your decision to book Carnival Breeze? Comment below. Follow for more cruise news.

The cruise industry is having a moment right now and I cannot stop talking about it.
New ships launching with features that didn't exist five years ago. Private island destinations that were just concepts twelve months ago. Cabin categories that honestly rival boutique hotels. And itineraries for the next 12 to 18 months that are some of the most interesting I've seen in years of doing this.
Here's the part most people miss: the best cabins on a brand new ship go fast. Early booking rates on new launches can run 20 to 30 percent lower than what the same cabin costs six months later β€” and that window does not stay open long.
If you've been thinking about your next cruise, this is genuinely the right time to pay attention.

Nobody told me Day One would feel like that.
You walk through the gangway expecting a boat. And then the atrium opens up and it just... hits you. The height of it. The music. The smell of the ocean mixed with something that just smells like vacation. Your brain genuinely cannot process all of it at once.
First-time cruisers always tell me they felt a little overwhelmed in the first hour and thought something was wrong with them. Nothing is wrong with you. That IS the experience.
Day One is not about doing everything perfectly or finding all the best spots right away. It is about letting yourself be completely amazed by something you have never seen before. The tips and the hacks and the planning β€” all of that matters. But the first hour is just for you.
Have you taken your first cruise yet? Drop a 🚒 if you remember that feeling. And if you are still planning your very first voyage, comment FIRST and I will send you my free First-Time Cruiser Checklist.

Norwegian Cruise Line just made a massive bet on Alaska. Locked in for the next two decades.
The Port of Seattle approved a new lease with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, extending the partnership through at least 2035, with an option to 2045 if sustainability targets are met.
Norwegian has been homeporting in Seattle since 2000. Twenty-five years, and it is not going anywhere.
Here is what the deal means. NCL must bring 325,000 paying passengers to Seattle every Alaska season. Over ten years, that is an estimated 116 million dollars for the port. Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Encore, and Norwegian Joy are at Pier 66 this season, and 2026 is on track for 330 ship calls and 2.1 million passengers.
Here is what nobody is talking about. Seattle mandated all homeporting vessels must be shore-power capable by 2027. NCL is now committing to test sustainable non-fossil fuels and fund decarbonization infrastructure at the port.
Alaska cruising is not slowing down. It is getting bigger, greener, and more competitive every single year.
