There's currently a 20% chance of tropical development off the East Coast of North Carolina in the next 7 days. Although the National Hurricane Center is monitoring the area, the system's chances of development are considered low.

Regardless of tropical development, the area can still expect heavy rain and potential flooding.

Forecast models are suggesting that a tropical entity might develop in the Atlantic and move into the Gulf around the first week of August.

Conditions are expected to become more conducive for tropical development as the Madden-Julian Oscillation moves into the region, with a belt of warm water emerging across the southern part of the Atlantic's Main Development Region.

However, the National Hurricane Center doesn't currently expect tropical development in the Gulf or Atlantic for the next seven days.

Good morning! Here's the latest update on the tropical weather for the Atlantic, Caribbean, and the Gulf of America.

At this time, there are no anticipated tropical systems forming in the next 5 to 7 days. While there is a possibility of a disturbance near the Carolina coastline, it is expected to move quickly out to sea without impacting the US mainland.

Additionally, a tropical wave in the eastern Atlantic is encountering unfavorable conditions like Saharan dust and high wind shear, reducing the likelihood of development.

Rest assured, we will keep monitoring the situation and providing updates throughout the season.

The Climate Prediction Center has updated their week 2 & week 3 forecast for the tropics today.

Remember, unlike the "blobs" issued by the NHC that look at specific system currently active, this forecast looks at regions where development "could" happen if a system were to form in that region.

The climate center does not track specific storms. It looks at long-term indicators that analyzes the ingredients in an area that would be condusive to tropical system development.

The forecast issued today shows an area in the northern Gulf & off the Carolina coast the first week of August, along with an area out in the Atlantic during the second & third week of August that would have a "low" chance of development IF a system were to work its way into that region. Right now there is nothing forecast to work in these places.

I spent 10 min scrolling through my FB feed today only to find multiple posts showing "scary" model forecasts from the othernight of storms in the Gulf 10-14 days from now. I want you to know that the next updates to those models now show nothing. No storms.

Single model runs 10-14 days out are NOT reliable & should NEVER be used as "weather updates." They are fantasies.

Right now, there is nothing to worry about. Plain & simple.

I'm sure there will be PLENTY to worry about later in the season. For now, let's not waste our nerves on storms that don't, & will never exist.

I'll keep you updated.

Good day, there have been no major updates in the weather models. The EURO model suggests a possible low-pressure system in the Atlantic, with a 65% chance of a tropical depression by next weekend. However, the GFS model is less certain, and the National Hurricane Center predicts no development in the next week. No need for alarm; please continue to stay updated. Enjoy your weekend ahead.
