MADAGASCAR 🇲🇬: “EVERY SERVING MINISTER OF MADAGASCAR, INCLUDING MYSELF, SHALL NOT HOLD AN INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT OF ANOTHER NATION OR POSSESS DUAL CITIZENSHIP”

~ New MADAGASCAR President Declares!

“One of the challenges plaguing AFRICA is that many leaders hold citizenship in another country they consider home.

They often show little concern for the nation they govern, knowing they can flee to that country for better healthcare or opportunities if conditions worsen.

My former leader would fly to France at the end of each month to enjoy luxuries like burgers, while MADAGASCAR’s citizens struggled to survive. This must never be allowed to happen again!”

BREAKING NEWS
The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided to award the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize to Maria Corina Machado for her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy.

As the leader of the democracy movement in Venezuela, Maria Corina Machado is one of the most extraordinary examples of civilian courage in Latin America in recent times.

Ms Machado has been a key, unifying figure in a political opposition that was once deeply divided – an opposition that found common ground in the demand for free elections and representative government. This is precisely what lies at the heart of democracy: our shared willingness to defend the principles of popular rule, even though we disagree. At a time when democracy is under threat, it is more important than ever to defend this common ground.

Venezuela has evolved from a relatively democratic and prosperous country to a brutal, authoritarian state that is now suffering a humanitarian and economic crisis. Most Venezuelans live in deep poverty, even as the few at the top enrich themselves. The violent machinery of the state is directed against the country’s own citizens. Nearly 8 million people have left the country. The opposition has been systematically suppressed by means of election rigging, legal prosecution and imprisonment.

Venezuela’s authoritarian regime makes political work extremely difficult. As a founder of Súmate, an organisation devoted to democratic development, Ms Machado stood up for free and fair elections more than 20 years ago. As she said: “It was a choice of ballots over bullets.” In political office and in her service to organisations since then, Ms Machado has spoken out for judicial independence, human rights and popular representation. She has spent years working for the freedom of the Venezuelan people.

Ahead of the election of 2024, Ms Machado was the opposition’s presidential candidate, but the regime blocked her candidacy. She then backed the representative of a different party, Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia, in the election. Hundreds of thousands of volunteers mobilised across political divides. They were trained as election observers to ensure a transparent and fair election. Despite the risk of harassment, arrest and torture, citizens across the country held watch over the polling stations. They made sure the final tallies were documented before the regime could destroy ballots and lie about the outcome.

The efforts of the collective opposition, both before and during the election, were innovative and brave, peaceful and democratic. The opposition received international support when its leaders publicised the vote counts that had been collected from the country’s election districts, showing that the opposition had won by a clear margin. But the regime refused to accept the election result, and clung to power.

Democracy is a precondition for lasting peace. However, we live in a world where democracy is in retreat, where more and more authoritarian regimes are challenging norms and resorting to violence. The Venezuelan regime’s rigid hold on power and its repression of the population are not unique in the world. We see the same trends globally: rule of law abused by those in control, free media silenced, critics imprisoned, and societies pushed towards authoritarian rule and militarisation. In 2024, more elections were held than ever before, but fewer and fewer are free and fair.

In its long history, the Norwegian Nobel Committee has honoured brave women and men who have stood up to repression, who have carried the hope of freedom in prison cells, on the streets and in public squares, and who have shown by their actions that peaceful resistance can change the world. In the past year, Ms Machado has been forced to live in hiding. Despite serious threats against her life she has remained in the country, a choice that has inspired millions of people.

When authoritarians seize power, it is crucial to recognise courageous defenders of freedom who rise and resist. Democracy depends on people who refuse to stay silent, who dare to step forward despite grave risk, and who remind us that freedom must never be taken for granted, but must always be defended – with words, with courage and with determination.

Maria Corina Machado meets all three criteria stated in Alfred Nobel’s will for the selection of a Peace Prize laureate. She has brought her country’s opposition together. She has never wavered in resisting the militarisation of Venezuelan society. She has been steadfast in her support for a peaceful transition to democracy.

Maria Corina Machado has shown that the tools of democracy are also the tools of peace. She embodies the hope of a different future, one where the fundamental rights of citizens are protected, and their voices are heard. In this future, people will finally be free to live in peace.

Full statement from The Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, yesterday:

"My brothers and sisters, citizens of Israel, we are on the verge of a very great achievement.

It is not yet final; we are working on it diligently, and I hope, with G-d's help, that in the coming days, during the Sukkot holiday, I will be able to inform you about the return of all our hostages, both living and deceased, in one phase, while the IDF remains deep within the Strip and in the controlling areas within it.

At the beginning of the war, a very senior security establishment official said: 'It is doubtful whether we can bring back even one living hostage.' Throughout the war, there were also those who claimed relentlessly that we could not receive all the hostages without a complete and full withdrawal from the Strip. I thought differently – and I acted differently.

Thanks to the determined decisions I led together with the Government, and thanks to the bravery of our fighters who pressured Hamas, we have so far returned 207 of our hostages.

But I have never given up on the remaining hostages. I have also never given up on achieving the other objectives of the war. As I said to the hostages when I addressed them directly from the UN podium: 'We have not forgotten you, not even for a moment.'

Throughout the war, my wife and I have met with the families of the hostages. We saw their pain. We heard their suffering. And we share their prayers that they will soon embrace their loved ones, and the families of the deceased hostages will be able to bring their loved ones – our loved ones – for Jewish burial.

To bring back our remaining 48 hostages, a few weeks ago I instructed the IDF to enter the most important Hamas stronghold – Gaza City.

Concurrently, I coordinated a diplomatic move with President Trump and his team that instantly flipped the script. Instead of Israel being isolated – Hamas is isolated.

As a result of the intense military pressure we applied and the diplomatic pressure, Hamas was pressured into agreeing to the plan we presented.

In the first stage, Hamas will release all of our hostages, and IDF forces will redeploy in a way that the IDF will continue to hold all of the controlling areas deep inside the Strip.

I have heard that some people are saying today that Hamas was ready a year ago, or even two years ago, to release all our hostages without us fully withdrawing from the Strip. I tell you – that is simply a lie.

What brought about the change in Hamas's position is solely the military and diplomatic pressure we have exerted.

Thanks to the great support that I received from you, citizens of Israel, and thanks to the bravery of our fighters, I stood up to tremendous pressure from within and without to stop the war and surrender to Hamas's dictates.

You know what would have happened then. We would have left Gaza with almost no achievement. We would not have entered Rafah and taken control of the Philadelphi Corridor, thereby stopping all possibility of smuggling weapons into the Strip. We would not have eliminated Haniyeh, Sinwar, Deif, and Nasrallah.

We would not have brought about the collapse of the Assad regime and the breaking of the Iranian axis of evil, and above all – we would not have removed the existential threat of nuclear bombs and ballistic missiles from Iran.

This is a historic achievement that will be recorded in the annals of Israel and also in the annals of nations. I thank my friend, our friend, President Trump, who assisted this historic operation by dispatching the B2 planes to bomb the nuclear facility in Fordo, and I thank him for his steadfast support.

There were those who dismissed the possibility that we could succeed in bringing about the release of all our hostages without a full withdrawal from the Strip.

They said: 'It’s too good to be true.'

So I tell you: 'It’s true' – and with G-d's help, it will happen very soon.

I have instructed the negotiating team, headed by Minister Dermer, to go to Egypt to close the technical details of the release of our hostages.

Our intention and that of our American friends is to limit this negotiation to a few days.

You heard President Trump today, he clearly said: We will not tolerate any more delay tactics, time-wasting, or evasion on the part of Hamas.

In the second stage, Hamas will be disarmed and the Strip demilitarized. This will happen either via a diplomatic route according to the Trump Plan – or via a military route by us.

I also said this in Washington: Either it will be achieved the easy way, or it will be achieved the hard way – but it will be achieved.

I thank the IDF fighters and the security forces – you are heroes! I salute you. I embrace the bereaved families who have sacrificed what is most dear, and the wounded in body and soul, who have sacrificed so much. I wish them a quick and complete recovery.

Everything we have achieved – we achieved thanks to all of you, and so too, you, the citizens of Israel, who showed steadfastness and patience during very trying days.

Together, we pushed back our enemies' plans of destruction. From Gaza to Rafah, from Beirut to Damascus, from Yemen to Tehran, together we have achieved great things.

From victory to victory – we are changing the face of the Middle East together. Together we will continue to act to ensure the eternity of Israel.

As it is said in our sources: 'They helped every one his neighbor, and every one said to his brother, 'Be of good courage.'"
