We created this educational post for our client Le Petite Cuisine Kitchen to explain what’s actually happening while sourdough ferments.

Why? Because Christine doesn’t just sell bread — she knows bread. 🥖

Educational content helps show that expertise while giving people something interesting and useful to stop and read. Then when they ARE ready to buy, they already know who the expert is.

What Happens During Fermentation?
🧪🥖 Bread dough may look like it's just sitting there...but there's a LOT happening inside.
During sourdough fermentation, the microorganisms in the starter begin feeding on sugars in the dough.
As they work, they produce gases and organic acids.
Those gases help the dough rise.
Those acids help develop sourdough's flavor and affect its texture.
And all of it takes time.
That's one reason artisan sourdough isn't something you simply mix and throw straight into the oven.
Sometimes doing absolutely nothing—or at least looking like you're doing nothing—is actually one of the most important steps. 😂
