I donā€™t usually make posts like this, but last night was one for the books. You ever have a dinner where everything about the service ruins the whole experience? That was me last night.
From the second we sat down, the waitress had an attitude. No smile, no ā€œhow are you guys tonight?ā€, just a heavy sigh like we were ruining her night by even showing up. I brushed it off at first because maybe she was just having a long shift. But then it got worse.
She took our order like it was a chore. We asked a couple questions about the menu and she acted like we were bothering herā€”rolling her eyes, cutting us off, and walking away mid-sentence before we even finished talking. Drinks? Took forever. Refills? Forget it. Plates? Thrown down on the table like she was in a rush to leave. At one point, she actually snapped when I asked politely if we could get silverware because, surprise, none was brought out.
The kicker? The food was fine, but the way she hovered with the check before we were even halfway done eating made it feel like she was trying to rush us out the door. No thank you, no checking in, nothing. Just pure attitude from start to finish.
Now hereā€™s where it gets funny: the check came out to almost $500 after their ā€œnon-cash adjustmentā€ fee (donā€™t even get me started on that little scam). Then at the bottom, it suggests I tip her ANOTHER $100+ on top. After the way we were treated? Absolutely not. And trust me, I tip well when someone actually does their jobā€”but last night she earned exactly whatā€™s written on that receipt: ZERO.
People always say ā€œyou have to tip no matter what.ā€ I disagree. A tip is earned. A smile costs nothing. Respect costs nothing. And if you canā€™t bring that bare minimum to the table, donā€™t expect me to fork over an extra $100 just because itā€™s customary.
I didnā€™t leave a tip, and I donā€™t feel bad about it one bit. Some might say Iā€™m petty, but I say enough is enough. If you treat your customers like trash, donā€™t expect them to pay you like royalty.

I woke up and changed my iPad password because my girlfriend really thought she could scroll through my messages like she pays the Wi-Fi bill. So I left a note on the screen saying I updated it since she thinks itā€™s fine to go through my stuff. Petty? Sure. But Iā€™m not living like Iā€™m under house arrest in my own place.

Letā€™s be honest, I wasnā€™t protecting ā€œprivacy.ā€ I was protecting options. If Iā€™m entertaining other girls, thatā€™s my business. She started acting like she owns me just because weā€™re official, so I reminded her sheā€™s my girlfriend, not my supervisor. I even set up a hidden backup phone in my car synced to everything, just in case she ever figures out the new code. And since she loves checking things, I deliberately left one harmless flirty message visible so sheā€™d spiral over nothing while the real conversations stayed locked.

When she confronted me, I flipped it and told her the only reason sheā€™s upset is because sheā€™s insecure. Then I suggested maybe we ā€œopen the relationshipā€ if sheā€™s that worried, knowing full well she hates that idea. Iā€™m not deleting a single contact. I just upgraded my strategy. If she canā€™t handle that, she can pack her bags.

Watching my girlfriend spiral after I put her car into a snowy ditch was the absolute peak of a mentally draining afternoon where I was just trying to provide her with a free professional stunt driving lesson. It is genuinely pathetic that sheā€™s sobbing over a "totaled" bumper when she should be thanking me for showing her how to handle a drift in real world conditions. Since she wanted to complain about the insurance hike and the fact that she canā€™t get to work, I decided to "help" her stay focused on her training by taking her car keys and throwing them into the deep snow, if she wants to drive like a pro, she can start by developing the survival skills to find her own way home.

She actually had the nerve to ask me to pay for the tow truck just because I was the one behind the wheel during the "educational" accident. Iā€™m the one who risked my own safety to teach her a high-level skill she clearly lacks, and if she didn't want her precious sedan in a field, she should have bought a car with better traction control. Iā€™ve already updated my dating profile to say Iā€™m looking for someone "less fragile," and Iā€™m definitely not helping her shovel out the wreckage until she admits that the crash was actually a result of her own negative energy distracting my focus.

Wow just wow! I don't go mcdonalds often, however today out of convenience i did. Since when has a breakfast meal in the UK cost Ā£7.22, nearly got over excited and non dull but decided otherwise! Iā€™m still taking care of my exā€™s kids even though I donā€™t owe him or his family anything. When the boys called me saying their dad wasnā€™t answering and their mom was laid up in the hospital, I didnā€™t pause. I drove out in the middle of bad weather to grab food and supplies so they wouldnā€™t be stuck at home hungry and sitting in the dark while their own father ignored them.

On top of that, I sent them a full McDonaldā€™s order and tipped extra because someone had to show up. Their mom is going to wake up worried, but at least sheā€™ll know I made sure her kids were okay while their dad disappeared.

People can say Iā€™m doing too much, but I refuse to let children suffer because the adults around them canā€™t get it together. Itā€™s not about history between me and him. Itā€™s about stepping up when nobody else will.
