It not just men. Speak up. Heal.
Ok here goes. My mother s*xually abused us as a child.
It was primarily non-contact. Making remarks about our (sister and I) bodies, talking to us in graphic detail about her s*x life even when we were small (under 10). And she’d constantly call me a pedophile/child molester, just because I had an easier time getting along with the younger kids in the neighborhood. She also demanded we sleep in her bed with her and massage her, even if we expressed discomfort about it. The abuse went on until I was a teenager, and stopped pretty much when I left for college. She realized I wasn’t going to put up with it anymore. She died a few years ago. My parents were also physically, and mentally abusive. We were hit and yelled at a lot, and my mother killed a lot of my pets. And she did tell me not to tell people certain things, like how she’d have us massage her or sleep in her bed. She died a few years ago Our mother was a narcissist. Everything was about her growing up. So now, I’m in therapy to work on complex trauma. Abusers should seek therapy as well.
