Spoiler alert! The Revenant 2 picks up years after Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) survives his brutal ordeal in the wilderness. Now a hardened trapper, Glass faces a new conflict when a ruthless fur empire, led by the vengeful Mads Mikkelsen (played by Anders Vanek, the brother of Tom Hardy's character in the film), begins slaughtering native tribes to expand their territory. After Glass interferes, Vanek's men ambush him and leave him for dead in the frozen wilderness - Magac.
Barely alive, Glass is found by a grieving Lakota warrior, Takoda (Zahn McClarnon), who lost his family to Vanek's mercenaries. The two form an uneasy alliance, pursuing Vaneyk's caravan to a remote fort where Corrupp is trading solders of stolen furs and enslaved Kapped. Using guerrilla tactics, Glas and Takoda sabotage the operation, leading to a brutal nighttime ambush where Glas finally engages in a ferocious knife fight on a frozen river.
Just as Glas gains the upper hand, a sudden avalanche buries itself. Glass barely escapes, but Vaneyk's fate remains ambiguous—until the final scene shows his frozen hand twitching beneath the snow. The film ends with Glas heading west, hinting at a final confrontation in a potential third film. A post-credits scene teases a mysterious French fur company expanding into the territory, setting up a larger conflict.
