“Leisure is a lifestyle.”- my motto for 2023. The final piece of a lot of life changes lately is this. I truly do enjoy content creation. I’ve been fortunate to receive a lot of opportunities despite me being afraid to commit. This year I’m betting on myself and doing what actually brings me joy. That is the foundation of my new brand direction. It’s time to own the fact I am a lifestyle content creator. My new website is up with this new energy too!

Leisure by definition is “free time”. I want to inspire you to always remember free time is important. Aim to keep sight of things that bring you happiness. For instance, you’ll start to see a lot more dancing from me. Free time doesn’t always have to be vacations or elaborate gestures either. Free time is what YOU make it to be for yourself.

I’m so excited for this shift and to finally lean more into experiences and activities I enjoy. Being more authentically myself and being less focused on fitting in. I might lose some people following along the way and that’s okay. My place of creating content is coming from the fact that it’s a hobby that brings me happiness. And at the end of the day, I hope to show you we can cultivate the life we imagine and it doesn’t have to destroy us in the process. We’re not getting time back, so let’s make the most of it while we can. ✨🤎

Not me showing up late, but seeing that it’s technically Wednesday, my is going my beautiful friend who laid the groundwork for thriving in this first year of 30 and is now 31! We’ve know each other since we we’re 14, but I feel like the last year is where we truly grew close. Your energy, support, and openness created space for me to expand in a time where I felt so small. I appreciate your big heart and generosity for the people in your life. I always tell you that you don’t give yourself the credit you deserve for being the brilliant soul you are. Thank you for the laughs, memories, life talks, hugs, and getting grandma out into those streets again. 😂 jk

But real talk thank you for being you and I hope this year you continue to step into the divine version of yourself. This is your year to create the life you want that is fulfilling to you and to manifest your passions. Because the world deserves to see what we are so lucky to experience as your friends. Here for you and rooting for you always. Love you so much and happy (belated) birthday! 🎂❤️

7 years ago I put an idea in a google doc. That idea continues to evolve, but only because I [ actively ] choose to keep pursuing it. Has it been challenging, confusing, and changed a million times? Yes. Has that now led to the point where I feel I’m wholeheartedly moving in my purpose? Absolutely yes.

So I will choose to continue to be bold enough to try. I will continue to dare to believe I can accomplish my goals in this lifetime. Because the alternative of not at least shooting my shot will never be enough for me. And even if it never reaches the levels I daydream of….the journey has already given me more joy, love, and memories that I can’t ever express enough gratitude for. Doing shadow work….Many days it has made me want to hide away. Though I continue to do it because of what I see for myself in the future. I feel lighter as I dig deeper. So on days like today, where the healing kinda hurts more than normal, I remind myself it’s to prepare for the beautiful moments I have yet to experience. And that there is also still beauty in the shadows.🖤

Not me, pretending to be a “Bougie auntie on vacation” and checking her phone every 5 minutes to see if her sister went into labor!🙆🏾‍♀️ Excited is an UNDERSTATEMENT!! I’m so ready to fly into town and hug my nephew. So I’m continuing to calm my nerves with self-care. Lol

I was recently gifted “Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque” and it has become a new fave. 🌿 My face is SO oily and one of my main highlights that caught my eye is that it reduces skin’s surface oil production by up to 46%. ANNNDD I’ve actually noticed a significant difference, especially since I’ve been trying to wear less makeup lately!

A main ingredient is Amazonian Clay, which is known to help absorb excess oils and detoxify skin. The Aloe also soothes the skin as it solidifies. It feels great on my face and I can still fully speak when I’m wearing it. Lol

In 2017, I attended a conference. Gloria Steinem was the keynote speaker and one of her quotes has stuck with me for three years. “The secret of age...you’re still the same person.” Ironic considering I was an anxious 25-year old secretly feeling like I was failure in a room full of powerful women.
Age is what trips us up so often. We feel like failures if we don’t do “this” by 25 or “that” by 30. Yes, accomplishing things is great, but you are still going to be YOU. I’m 29 now and finally starting to reap some of the benefits of yeaaaarrrsss of committing to my creativity. Has it been easy? Absolutely not. Has it been worth it? 1,000%. Because those years of refining, failing, pivoting, and creating my personal lane have opened new doors for me.
Your age doesn’t take away from the validity of your dreams. Don’t give up on trying because it didn’t happen when you expected it to. Stop limiting yourself to numbers. Love, lifestyle, career, health, anything. The only thing that matters is for you to keep going. Stay committed and don’t give up because someday you’ll understand why it happened the way it did. 💛📸

Going back to back today. 🤷🏾‍♀️ lol I always assumed my career journey would be like the pattern of these pants. When really it’s actually been the shape of the bike rack. We go from k-12, directly into higher Ed, right into the career world, and we expect everything to just to go straight. But my path has been everything BUT linear and I’ve learned to embrace it. Our path (especially professional) doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. It’s okay to explore and figure it out. It’s okay to pivot completely. Each opportunity is a getting you one step closer to where you want to be. Create your path and ride every hill, valley, peak, and pit with an open mind and confidence. It will always work out the way it should be. 🤍

A sub path emerging for me is styling!
