‼️OPEN CALL | Attention//Distraction: Apply by Mar 31!
Publication • NYC Showcase + Panel

As geopolitical volatility and AI-mediated information collide, our attention is harvested through engineered distraction. We are networked to multiple elsewheres, our gaze steered by invisible infrastructures.

If attention can be captured, fragmented, or resisted, then distraction emerges as both a condition and a strategy.

We invite artists, writers, and technologists to explore the politics of attention.

Areas of interest:
• Network culture & media environments
• Critiques of contemporary spectatorship
• Interventions that disrupt and redirect attention
• New modes of seeing and noticing

🫟What kind of futures do Creative AIs build?
As AI continues to blur the lines between human and machine creativity, TechnoMirage: Creative AI Futures - a global virtual panel - brings together artists, designers, and technologists to reflect on how AI is transforming the nature and future of creative labor.

Hosted by Julienne DeVita’s Design With AI course at Parsons School of Design Strategies in collaboration with Underground Art and Design .art , the event invites audiences to imagine alternative futures of art and design shaped not only by technological innovation but also by collective values of authorship, care, and accessibility.

Featuring Dominika Čupková , Jazsalyn , Joaquina Salgado .s , and Ziv Epstein , this conversation highlights voices from across continents who are rethinking how creative agency can exist within, against, and alongside algorithmic systems. Through their practices, the panelists challenge dominant narratives of efficiency and automation, revealing how AI might become a space for re-enchantment, resistance, and world-building.

Open to students, educators, and practitioners...It is a moment to pause, exchange, and reimagine what it means to create in an AI-saturated world.

Date: 4th November, 2025
Time: 11 am - 12:30 pm EST
Format: Online (Zoom)
Registration is free and open to the public

Last Sunday, Sep 21, we sat in soft sunlight, opening ourselves to different ways of imagining how we might live with AI: what collaborations feel possible, what frictions shape us, and what futures these relationships could hold through talks by and and a specualtive futuring workshop led by Liminal (Julienne DeVita), co-designed with .

’s “unproductive” chatbot pulled us into conversation by refusing being useful, by making space for questions and sideways thought. Octologue by .items juxtaposed voices and arguments until they became something more than debate, something closer to a living chorus.

Lastly, we ended in a much needed exhale: a soundscape stitched together by from the archival calls of extinct Hawaiian birds, meeting the quiet triggers of AI agents. It was lullaby and noise, grief and comfort, all at once.

Under the care of , light, thought, and sound held us—briefly otherworldly, and deeply together.
