Thank you so much for the enormous outpouring of support these past few weeks. The amount of love and enthusiasm for these films is unlike anything I have ever experienced, and for that I am immensely grateful. Death Save garnered over 1,000 views in the first 24 hours of its release.

These were the hardest films I've ever had to make, but also the most necessary. Outside of my dreams, it was the first time I’d felt him with me. Thank you so much for your kind words and insights into your individual grieving processes. It's been very helpful for me and I hope the film was at least somewhat helpful for you.

I just want to publicly thank four people in particular. Kamal Sehrawy, Evan Jordan, Oisin Heneghan, and Emily Jackoway. Without them giving their absolute all at every point of production, these films would not have happened. They literally climbed mountains for me and I would walk over hot coals for them. They wore every hat they could - working on story, costume/prop/production design, sound, catering, and then managed to act their hearts out without ever complaining. They are the finest creators, collaborators, and artists I have ever known. Thank you.

-Jayme

Three months ago, our dear friend and collaborator, Noah Rogers, passed away. We processed our grief and confusion in the only way we knew how: by making work we knew he would be proud of.

This summer, two shorts we made for festival competitions became a series exploring loss – a reflection of the memories and conflicting emotions that emerged throughout our mourning process. Over the next two weeks, we will be releasing both shorts to Astral Motion’s YouTube and social pages.

Our first short, “Death Save,” was inspired by an unresolved DnD campaign we were playing with Noah. It was created for a 48-hour film festival in which filmmakers write, shoot, and edit a short over the course of a weekend. (Releasing 7/15)

The second, “Beyond the River Styx,” imagines what would happen if we encountered Noah one last time. It was created for a cinematography competition requiring us to use equipment worth less than $2,500. (Releasing 7/22)

In the coming days, watch this page for trailers, stills, and behind-the-scenes footage that demonstrates the profound joy, effort, and love that went into these shoots. We can’t wait to share our work and celebrate Noah’s memory with you all!
