A United States Marine Corps F/A-18 Hornet pilot from Miramar is safe after ejecting during a training flight in Washington State on Saturday. A Marine Aircraft Group 11, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing statement described the crash around noon as a “non-fatal aviation mishap” involving one of its F/A-18 Hornet aircraft based at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in California.

Fairchild-Republic A-10C, tail number 79-0087, has been serving with the 175th Wing, Maryland Air National Guard, since its manufacture in 1979. “087” served in Afghanistan and Iraq, along with many other overseas missions. 🐗FOREVER!
