Texas Legislature plans to call a special session to argues for a rare, mid-decade redistricting this summer to limit GOP mid-term losses, avoid Democrat pick ups and give Republicans a bigger edge in 2026.

Redistricting efforts by states usually only happen every 10 years after the Census.
Gavin Newsom has announced he will do the same in California to offset Texas GOP gains, if they move forward with this dirty trick.

If you live in McCook, Nebraska, your health care is about to get a lot worse. The Community Hospital, which serves the community south of North Platte, is closing down due to uncertainty over Medicaid cuts. Yep, the Trump budget bill that axes $1 trillion from the healthcare program for the most vulnerable Americans.

But the pain goes far deeper, as the citizens of McCook well know. They’re the first community to lose their hospital over these cuts, but sadly, they won’t be the last. Five more rural hospitals in Nebraska alone could be shutting their doors.
