Day 1 of the Bassmaster Kayak Series at Clear Lake was interesting to say the least. Wind was gassin so I made the decision to fish a 150-200 yard stretch all day that was protected from pretty gnarly wind/waves. Started out hot with a pair of 18s and then dumped a 6-7 pounder that somehow buried itself into a boulder after tail walking. Made it work on day 1 but these dudes smashed! Wind will be lower tomorrow so we will be able to explore more. Let’s try and back this up 🤘🏼

Practice has flownnn by here at Clear Lake and with basically 1.5 days of practice we’re around some fish but nothing too exciting. Gonna go have fun tomorrow and hopefully run into some west coast melons! 76 anglers in this derb and awesome to be around the west coast bassin community. LFG🤘🏼

June is men’s mental health awareness month and while I think it’s wild we need a month of the year to check in on each other - use it as a reminder to check in on your people. It can be very easy, and I’m guilty of it, to get very busy and not take a few minutes to just check in your people just for the sake of checking in on them.

I’ve been one in the past to bottle my problems and not speak about them. There’s been so much cliche around men being weak for speaking about what’s on their mind but that’s a load of BS. Thankfully I have an amazing wife, family and friends to speak to about issues. Regardless if you have that or not, there’s always someone to talk to. I don’t care if we’ve never spoken before, my DMs are always open 🤘🏼
