Is my decision to retain the $90 misguided? I recently acquired a tiny shoulder bag at a thrift store, and upon inspection, I found $90 concealed within its pockets. After sharing a photo of the bag in a local thrift group, the store owner reached out, asserting ownership of the money and requesting its prompt return. However, when questioned about the bag's specifics, he was unable to provide a description. It seems to me that the owner has no legitimate claim to the money, as the bag was donated and sold to me in good faith. Am I justified in keeping the $90, or should I relinquish it to the store owner?

For those who say gas prices are no longer that bad, I would be interested to hear how they explain the fact that the same gallon of fuel can cost $5.89 in one state and only $3.29 in another.
It is the same country and the same product, yet the cost can vary dramatically depending on location. Even at retailers that are often viewed as lower-priced options, such as Costco, many people still end up spending $80 to $120 to fill a tank, which has started to feel almost routine.
At some point, it is fair to ask when filling up a vehicle began to resemble a recurring household bill rather than a normal everyday expense. And honestly, if you lived in an area where fuel cost nearly twice as much, would you continue driving the same way, or would prices at that level actually make you consider relocating?

okay nah… THIS right here might be the first time I’ve ever seen a delivery setup that actually made me stop and just stare for a second 😭

so let me get this straight…

people out here barely answering the door, leaving “don’t knock” notes, tipping $2 on a 30-minute drive…

and then there’s THIS house casually running a FULL SNACK STATION for delivery drivers like it’s a gas station pit stop???

chips stacked.
candy loaded.
a whole fridge FULL of drinks.
Gatorades, energy drinks, water…
and then a sign that literally says “FREE FOR ALL DRIVERS”???

I’m sorry but WHO is this person???
because this isn’t normal kindness… this is next-level “we appreciate you” energy 😭

like imagine pulling up expecting the usual:
drop the food, snap the pic, leave…

and instead you get hit with a whole mini convenience store telling you to grab whatever you want??

I already know some drivers walked up like
“nah there’s gotta be a catch…”
double-checking the sign like it’s a trick 😭

and the crazy part is…
this probably cost them REAL money to keep stocked like this consistently

chips aren’t cheap anymore.
drinks DEFINITELY aren’t cheap.
and they got BOXES on the side ready to refill like this is an ongoing operation

I’m not even exaggerating when I say this might be one of the most thoughtful setups I’ve seen

because most people don’t even think twice about delivery drivers…
but THIS person clearly does

lowkey makes you wonder…
how different would people’s days be if more customers moved like this??

I’m sorry but ELEVEN THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED THIRTY-FIVE DOLLARS just casually sitting on a paper from 2018 is actually insane 😭

So let me get this straight… I went to the ER, got admitted, gave the hospital my insurance info TWICE, my insurance literally said the hospital only had a certain amount of time to submit the claim, and then after that… nothing. No follow-up bill. No calls. No letters. No drama. Just silence for YEARS. And now I randomly come across this old statement saying I supposedly owe $11,635.46??? Be serious.

Because at what point does this stop being “billing” and start becoming a jump scare?? 😩 Like how do you let something sit there since 2018 and then expect a normal person to just be cool with finding a bill that looks like a down payment on a house? If y’all had what you needed and still didn’t file it in time, how is that somehow my problem??

And that’s what really irritates me about hospital billing. They act like regular people are supposed to understand every insurance deadline, coding issue, filing window, adjustment, and claim process while we’re literally dealing with an emergency. I was at my parents’ house, I called, I gave the information, I did what I was supposed to do. After that I never got another bill, so why would I assume this was still floating around out there like some unpaid ancient curse waiting to come back from the dead? 😭

Also can we talk about how the original total was $13,754.15, insurance only knocked off $2,118.69, and somehow the patient balance is still over 11k?? For an ER admission?? This is exactly why people panic every time they open hospital mail.

I’m genuinely asking… can a hospital really come back years later for something like this if they missed their chance to bill insurance on time? Or is this one of those things where they dropped the ball and hope the patient just gets scared and pays anyway?

Because finding a surprise $11,635 bill from 2018 in 2026 would have me staring at the wall for a good hour.

I’m sorry but WHY are businesses getting this comfortable adding little surprise charges to every single thing now?? 😭

So I take my kid to get a haircut, and now apparently if I go on SATURDAY or SUNDAY — aka the only time most working parents are actually FREE — they wanna add a $5 weekend service fee. Then if I pay with my card or tap my phone, that’s ANOTHER $1 processing fee on top of it. So basically I’m getting charged extra for getting my child’s haircut on my day off and for paying the normal way everybody pays in 2026?? 😩

And what really got me is the cute little cartoon sign trying to make it look all sweet and harmless like this isn’t just “we’re charging you more because we can.” I get that businesses have costs, I really do, but at some point it starts feeling like customers are getting nickel-and-dimed to death. Weekend fee. Card fee. And let me guess… I’m still expected to tip too?? Be serious.

Parents already spend crazy money on haircuts, clothes, food, school stuff, and everything else, and now I gotta strategically plan my kid’s lineup around avoiding extra fees like I’m booking a flight on Spirit Airlines 😭

Maybe I’m overreacting, but charging parents MORE for coming in on the days they actually have off feels a little backwards to me. Like thanks for being a loyal customer… that’ll be extra.

I recently lost my job and wasn’t able to keep up with rent. I stayed in constant communication with my landlord during that time and let him know I was trying to find a new place. I eventually moved out, and everything seemed to go smoothly—until I received this bill in the mail.

I understand that I may have to pay any back rent or reasonable cleaning fees, but the amount they’re asking for seems excessive and honestly feels like extortion.

Is this even legal? I’m really stressed about it and not sure what my options are. I left the place very clean and without damage, and I also took photos as proof when I moved out.

Does anyone know if there’s anything I can do about this?
